  1. I would take Cignetti in a heartbeat, but haven’t seen his name for a while. Again, if he wants it why are we talking to Hart, Candle and Chryst? Makes no sense. Go get Cignetti. Go get Herman. Go get anyone that made this whole thing worth it. Someone with a pop. PLEASE DOLSON DON’T F THIS UP!!!
  2. If it is Mike Hart, then Dolson should resign at the same time he announces him. And so should the President and BOT. if Herman wants it, pay his buyout and get him. After paying 15mm to get rid of TA don’t get cheap now.
  3. I really hope it is Curt Cignetti. Amazing record and looks like he isn’t daunted from a challenging situation. Only make $700k or so. Pay the man and let’s get going. If not, then Tom Herman.
  4. Would love to see Chris Petersen get a look. He can flat out coach and isn’t doing anything to my knowledge. Quit to have a better work life balance. Can only assume the low pressure of IU would suit him well. Plus he is only 59 with nearly an 80% win loss record. Back up the Brinks truck and make a pitch.
  5. Just me, but I’m not sure Jeff Rabjohns is the bastion of truth we all should look to for accurate information. Not saying Gruden is on or off the list (probably isn’t, but he did grow up around the program and was back waxing nostalgically in 2017 or so), but pretty sure most posters more knowledgeable than me have consistently mocked Rabjohns for not providing credible information throughout the years (I.e. he is more full of it than not). To that end, I believe all names should be considered to be on the table until someone more reputable disputes them. Just my two cents. Let the haters hate. Personally, and assuming the numbers of what we might be able to offer are even remotely accurate, we may get a bigger fish than some might expect. Let’s hope.

    They Fired Tom Allen!

For the love of all that is HOLY fire Tom Allen. Akron in 4 overtime’s is not a win. And Lebowski, stop. Just stop. He is horrible. Yes, he is better than any coach IU has ever had but he is monumentally horrible nonetheless. Expect more and perhaps you will get more. Fire Tom Allen. Pay real money for a real coach and staff and perhaps have a competitive team. BIG is gonna be brutal…BRUTAL!
  7. Most embarrassing win I have ever seen. If he were honest and cared about the program, he would step down. If Dolson had any sense about him, he would pay the $20mm and fire him. Winning in the fourth overtime against Akron is not a win. And no the D did not look good, they looked good against a HS team. It looks s horrible all around. And Akron should have won in regulation. He should be fired and would be anywhere else. Furthermore when Lebowski posts, just because you are the best shitty coach does not mean you are a good coach. IU sucks at football and should not. It is the AD, it is Tom Allen, it is the fans that don’t demand better. Disgusted by this game and disturbed that I keep watching. Screw Tom Allen if he does not step down. He claims he loves his players, the school and the program and is single handedly destroying it. Wait until we play the BIG 10.
  8. This was yet another atrocious performance, and the defense looked good not because they are good but because OSU just played the worst game they will play this year. Anyone finding a bright spot from this game is deluding themselves. We will win 2-3 games this year at a max. But one thing is clear, Allen needs to go. IU has the potential to be good with the right coach. It looked possible under Mallory, Hep (died too soon to realize), Wilson (fired too soon to realize), and even Allen with the right assistants. But Allen refuses to keep the right people and stays loyal to hacks (Hiller, Sheridan, and now Bell). For the love of god, look at Colorado which has been horrible for two decades (with the exception of two years) and is now beating TCU (in the national championship last year and ranked 17) in Neon Deion’s first season with massive roster turnover. You can’t hire a high school coach (or it’s equivalent - even though he might have been a reasonably good DC) and expect the results we need to stay in the Big Ten. You need a legitimate and proven head coach. If Dolson can’t grow the necessary manhood to make the change, then both of them should go. And for those that think I am a hater, I am not. I wanted Allen to be the right coach. I don’t post often. I have been a loyal IU fan (football and basketball for almost 50 years). I hate where we are today (with football). We could easily pay enough to get a great football coach. People that say otherwise are full of it. IU had the 11th most revenue in D1 programs last year (https://www.on3.com/news/usa-today-releases-top-25-total-revenue-college-athletics-programs/ ) and we are in a conference that just inked a deal to pay members between $70 and $100mm per year. You can’t tell me we can’t afford it. Especially, when Pac-12, ACC and Big 12 schools are receiving less and many schools have far better coaches. These coaches make less and are far better: Chip Kelly, Kalen Deboer, Dan Lanning, Chris Kleiman, Dana Holgorsen, Dave Aranda, Gus Malzan, Mack Brown, Scott Satterfield, Dave Doeren, and Pat Narduzzi, among others. Some great, some good, all better than Tom Allen. It is a false argument that IU cannot afford a great coach. Bad decisions lead to huge payouts, which if we paid market for a top tier coach up front, would cost us less over time - and make the University a tremendous amount if we are successful (the 2nd largest living alumni bases is a sleeping giant and would easily support a successful program). However, we, meaning the IU athletic department, choose not to pay what is market when we hire football coaches (we only pay up when there is a flash in the pan single season result - Tom Allen) and instead choose to bet on unknowns or unproven coaches to compete at the highest level in D1 sports (Allen in football and Miller in basketball as examples). As you would not let just anyone drive an IndyCar (even on the worst team), such as a mechanic (yes, they know about cars, but may not be the right choice to race them at the Indy 500 - if you are confused, yes I am being sarcastic that someone would think this is a good idea), you shouldn’t let the used car / snake oil salesman (I.e. Tom Allen, and Bill Lynch for that matter) coach IU football. And just because we have historically been horrible at football does not mean we always need to be (see Oregon before 1994; South Carolina outside of Spurrier years; TCU before 1998; Michigan State before 1998; Baylor before 2010; among others). You actually have to want to succeed, believe you can succeed, plan to succeed, and hire the right people to succeed in order to actually succeed. It’s a simple concept, but essential to success. Anything less is apathetic and begs the question why we even have a football program if we are unwilling to put the pieces in place to succeed. Venting done. I realize Dolson clearly does not care and that our fan base only aims for bowl eligibility. It is truly sad. But it is what it is. Feel free to hate on this post, but I think lots of IU fans feel the same way. Have at it, and no hard feelings if you disagree.
