  1. I'm biased and I think IU is his best choice. However, Memphis and Alabama are way better than LSU right now. LSU lost most of their key players last year, are in the middle of a scandal, and will probably fire their coach.
  2. Sad...Trendon may be the more talented player but I think Christian ends up being the better player between the two. Huge mistake going to LSU if that is where he goes. They'll be an NIT team and he will have no exposure at all. Memphis and Alabama are way better choices.
  3. I really think it is going to fail. I'd be really surprised if Memphis even makes the Sweet 16 next year.
  4. To sum it up...good relationship with Penny and Mike. Coach Miller and staff have a good relationship with the family. Close with returning IU players. Sorry, Memphis isn't making the Sweet 16 next year let alone the National Championship game. That style doesn't win. Not saying IU is either but Lester is probably a 3-4 year player. I bet IU is more successful than Memphis over the next 3-4 years. I think this kids game fits well with what the program is looking for. Hope he puts in the work. However, if he chooses Memphis we know what he wants.
  5. You said it best...right players who want to be at IU. Just like the right players who wanted to be at Virginia and Texas Tech.
  6. I have to agree with you. On average 10-20 of the 60 are freshman. You may have a player come out of nowhere (Zhaire Smith) but most of the time it is your McDonald's All American players. I have no problem with LQ having NBA dreams..but right now is a bit of a stretch. I will be happy if Indiana gets him. Rob runs the point with upperclassmen Al and Devonte in the backcourt. I'm sure LQ is the first guard off the bench and will see 20 minutes a game. I also think that RJ Hampton reclassifying and possibly going to Memphis helps us, regardless of what the insiders are saying. Wasn't LSU the favorite and now Memphis is? LQ even said right now he is leaning towards Memphis and IU. RJ, Wiseman, Jeffries, and Precious (possibly) are all ahead of him at Memphis. They have a few returning players from the NIT team. I think he sees more time playing time at IU.
  7. Very pleased IU offered Leal and Galloway. Need to get both. I think they both have solid senior years and their stock will rise. Personally, I'll take a fringe top 100 4 star from Indiana over a 4 star ranked 70ish from another state. Both these guys will play into their role. Sounds like Leal is a done deal. Galloway may take some time. Very good chance one of them wins Mr. Basketball in 2020. That makes Romeo ('18) and TJD ('19-well he should be). Fun fact-Mr. Basketball has been around since 1939. IU has had the most Mr. Basketball's. They have never had three in a row. Say what you want about Archie but he is killing in-state recruiting. Needs to translate to the court now....
  8. I agree. It's sad that is what it has come to.
  9. It's ridiculous. They did it this past year with TJD and Keion. So tired of this garbage. The NCAA is a joke. I'm always going to be a huge college basketball fan but things have to change with college sports. UNC, Kansas, Duke, and others get away with murder. IU got in so much trouble of text messages/calling.
  10. Think I'm tapping out for the spring/summer. I will follow the board occasionally but it has been a very frustrating 3 months for IU fans. I've had enough at this point..need a break. I want to give Archie and the team the benefit of the doubt but I'm skeptical for next year. Come September I will be ready to go and excited for the season. A few things to watch: 1) Lester Q and Trendon recruitment-Doubt IU gets them but both would be welcomed. 2) 2020/2021 recruiting- I think Archie needs to offer Leal. He will be a solid player from Bloomington. Last 4 star we got from B-Town was pretty good.....Lander and Furst are a must. Both will make an excellent in-state duo. Would love to see Archie get an out of state 2020 kid (Morton). I think Archie needs to have success (commitments) from the 2020/2021 class prior to the season. Next year doesn't look pretty...needs to have high talent coming in to get some more time. I don't think Crean gets a fourth year if not for Zeller and the "Movement". 3) Hope this team will work their a$$ off in Cook Hall. I'm concerned about Devonte and Justin. Not sold they are all in on IU. Kept hearing about a culture problem and this team only lost seniors and a few guys who don't play. Don't like a daddy publicly calling out the coaching staff. This program is really counting on Rob/Al/Devonte/Justin to improve their game in all areas. Love the frontcourt with TJD/Brunk/De'Ron/Race. Jerome Hunter is a question mark. I think he plays but how much? We won't truly know until the season starts. Armaan and Damezi could see a lot of playing time if they are ready. Love BTown Banners. Everyone is very friendly on this board. Again, it's been a really rough stretch for this program. I didn't expect banner 6 last year but I didn't expect to lose 12/13 and make the NIT. Massive 12 months for Archie Miller. I like him but he failed this past season. It happens. Just need it all to play out. If Archie doesn't have 2020/2021 momentum and they miss the tournament next year, I think it is time for a change. However, if they have some recruitment momentum I think that buys him a fourth year barring a disaster. Thanks again everyone! Will be checking in from time to time.
  11. Brian Snow stated that it is a very good thing for IU that Cole Anthony chose UNC. I don't know if that is obvious or not but he is in the know. Isn't as high on Watford and Quinones.
  12. Exactly what I have said. Trendon will be an all conference player in college. However, I think he is more focused on the league and good for him. Good if we good him, if not best of luck to him.
  13. I think he is the highest rated B1G Freshman. I think he will be a good player. I see Jared Jeffries similarities. Outside of Ohio State the big ten has a weak freshman class. Michigan State has a few studs. If Indiana can land Harris or one of the other recruits that would help talent wise. I think IU can win the conference in 2021 and 2022. Michigan state will be tough to beat this year.
  14. Good point. I just think most of these one and done players don't make much of an impact their first few years. Take Noah Vonleh for example. Took him awhile to get his career going. Just hate the one and done rule. Let him go out of high school or 2-3 years in college. Works in baseball and works in the NFL (minus coming out of high school). I also hate the same team winning the championship every year. Durant to Golden State has ruined the NBA. Take him out and I think the NBA is more intriguing.
  15. Sounds like this visit went really well. My guess is he is the first guard off the bench in year one and starts in year two and beyond. I think he will have more PT at IU early than UNC. Don't see Roy coaching all four years at UNC. But who knows lol.
  16. Why would anyone want to go to LSU right now? I mean I'm not saying he has to go to IU but there is so much uncertainty there. Their whole team basically left-most of them should have stayed. I guess they think it is a ticket to the NBA. Tired of this one and done mess. Let the kids go straight out of high school. If they want to go to college they need to stay three years. The NBA is awful to watch right now. How many 20-22 year olds do you see dominating the NBA right now? In the NFL young players make an impact right away. Why? Because they develop in college and are mature enough to handle the pros. You will have a Lebron, Durant, Davis, etc every once in a while. But most of these kids need to stay in college for three years.
  17. Lamelo Ball is such a waste of a spot. They need to update their 2020 and 2021 rankings. Lander not in their rankings is a joke.
  18. There are a lot of minutes for him next year if he wants it. Love that he isn't transferring.
  19. It doesn't bother me as much. It is what it is. I just want players who are focused on getting better and not just using IU to go through the motions to get to the NBA.
  20. That is awesome he is an education major! Liked everything that I read. I like him setting the bar high.
  21. I agree. Unfortunately a kid usually transfers if that happens in todays era.
  22. Team needs consistent Justin Smith. Not lazy, I don't care Justin Smith. I want him at IU if he plays for Indiana and gives into his role. If not, bye. Dad needs to quit running his mouth as well.
  23. Phinisee Al Green TJD Brunk Hunter is your sixth man. Justin (still think he leaves) and De'Ron off the bench. Armaan and Race get the rest of the minutes.
  24. Don't think so either but a good chance all three (one for sure) will be on campus in the next month.
  25. I don't see him sticking around. Especially if IU gets Watford/Quinones/Harris/grad transfer.
