  1. I think you're right. Nationally, feels like a top 40 team - so, let's say, 8/9 seed.
  2. That's a good use of an extra roster spot. Like bringing in some developmental players.
  3. Yep. Would be a good depth piece.
  4. How does this affect our swing and miss ratio?
  5. Beyond what you said I think you try to find some depth pieces with multiple years of eligibility who can play a role (even if just a rotation player) for you in future years. Freeman would be great because he'd have a big role now plus could potentially be around.
  6. What's the right amount of swinging and missing? And how does our hit rate compare? Or maybe we're just being a bit negative...
  7. https://youtu.be/dKR8q_TkJ-Q?si=V64K0_JDBb6RDpbk
  8. I'd eat breakfast at Bailey's Skillet.
  9. Definitely. But there are multiple schools of thought. There are others who think schools that are dedicating a higher percentage of revenue sharing to basketball prefer to wait - plus some schools (apparently) have concerns about how NIL deals will be treated and would rather understand it first.
  10. The district judge on ruling on approval of the house settlement. So after that date schools can start giving revenue share $
  11. The reality is there are two types of schools right now: the ones trying to spend money before April 7 and the ones waiting until after April 7 to spend money. I wouldn't worry too much about transfer portal for another week or two. I understand and agree that it would be great to already have a team together. But it's an odd year.
  12. Big bits understandably get all the attention but little bits have their place too.
  13. Rumor is he doesn't get to choose, but IU is taking care of him: Hard to beat a 1992 Geo Metro. Sources say it's in "pretty good condition given that it's a 1992 Geo Metro."
  14. The most notable thing in his contract is that he was only paid $25k for moving expenses. Come on, Darian, you could have negotiated more than that!
  15. Discipline in negotiations and valuations is a good thing. Let's see what happens.
  16. Mark Turgeon is joining as an assistant?
  17. Riley seems like a very high upside guy - obviously not at that level yet. Agree that it will be interesting to follow.
  18. I don't think Conwell is particularly set on following Miller - maybe he ends up there but that's not going to be the main driver of his decision.
  19. Plus he built his previous program to multiple D2 Final Fours. The guy clearly knows how to coach. He also has to be close to 70.
  20. He had as much success at Minnesota as anyone has. The program has only been to 14 NCAA tournaments ever and the only momentum they had toward any somewhat real or sustained success was killed by the Clemson Haskins era scandal. Will be interesting to see how Pitino does in a better setting.
  21. Right. But we're giving him credit for these great assist numbers without knocking him for his turnover issues. His best role, then, is much more limited in terms of the amount of offense running through him... which means he won't be creating as many assists. Yes, he's a bench guy with experience. And that's fine.
  22. Agreed, other than the 3 pt %. Given his career FT % and his first year at Drake and last year, I wouldn't expect him to replicate that (even that year, he only shot 37% in conference play - just had a really hot November/December). But yes, if we expect something like: 25 minutes, 6 points, 3 assists, 2 turnovers, 35% from 3, and an understanding of the system and where to be on offence and defense, that's probably about what he will provide.
  23. It wasn't disastrous at Drake, but it wasn't good.
  24. He turned it over on 30% of the possessions he used last year. That's really bad. He's fine as an addition to the team, but I think the board in general is overrating his value.
