Per the chat on the other IU site with Rabs, he was able to text DG directly and was told by DG that he HAS NOT committed and doesn't know what anyone on twitter is talking about. Rabs also talked to the family and confirmed they had a sit-down starting on Friday to start vetting schools. Got out a big white poster and wrote pros & cons of each.

The Garland comment about hoping Vandy gets Shittu and Langford was misquoted. He was actually summarizing each of the coaches’ pitches/angles on why he should attend each. He himself wasn’t hoping for Shittu to commit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I’m not overreacting. It’s okay to be disappointed with a turnout on a really important night. Look at turnouts for similar events at other high majors. Exactly. And CAM doesn't just hop on cross-country flights to LA for some kid he's only mildly interested in. He wants RP to commit NOW. Have to if RP committing hurts chances of landing Romeo. He's stated it's all about the players around him, and also has expressed interest in playing with Garland, who would likely be 100% out if we get RP. For the record, I love RP and think either PG would be a great fit for us, just curious about the possible ramifications with regards to RL's recruitment. That's essentially the point I was trying to make. Langford's recruitment is about so much more than just him as an individual player. It's a statement to future recruits in the state and programs who have been farming our recruits essentially unchecked for too long, and it puts us back on the map as a perennial powerhouse with regards to regional recruiting.

However, both Green and Durham will have an entire year of "molding" at the collegiate level before Garland even graduates, so they could very well be ready to take the helm by the time the 2018 class comes around. I would be much more satisfied with RP and Romeo than a class including Garland and a high level 4 star SG.

I agree that we need a solid PG, but I'm not so sure we don't already have a pure PG on roster. Green and Durham are both PGs, and I think with an improved jumper and a little brawn Durham can be exactly what we need. I really think he's going to surprise a lot of people this season. The main case for Romeo is that he is a generational player and the biggest in-state talent in recent memory. He's the kind of player that can turn heads and draw interest to IU for future recruits. Despite the fact that he's likely OAD, Archie will be lauded for luring him, and can use use him as an example of successful NBA talents he's coached and made ready for the league. Just my two cents.

I could see Green making massive strides this season. There are a lot of boxes that still need to be checked before I'm confident calling him the de facto floor general. But I agree with you.

Romeo or Garland. Pick one/explain why.
