  1. A chance to experience free agency to better themselves is probably the motivating factor in like 90% of transfers. While the other percentages fall in the various categories from closer to home to coaching changes to personality conflicts on the team to flat being told to leave. I know if I were in their shoes I probably would do the same. It couldn't hurt to test the market. To be a student-athlete these days.
  2. Added the PAC-12 schools joining us.
  3. Get to work on his accuracy, making his reads, gaining arm strength, etc. etc.
  4. Whoever our next QB is will be vastly improved with the opportunity to get his name known in the national spotlight. We're in for a treat folks. Coach Cig plans to make IUFB the QB mecca and it's going to be glorious to watch all of this unfold! Coach Cig takes in transfers and turns them into Conference POY.
  5. Not worried one bit. I'm guessing IUFB loses 30% maybe more of its 2023 roster and gains 30% maybe more of other players from other schools. If 10% of the incoming are from JMU that is a good start for the 90% to learn what is expected and how things work from the day to day. The 10% will help change the way the 70% still at IUFB think.
  6. In my opinion, regarding modern area resume, Bill Mallory is the closest type of hire IUFB has done. Maybe DiNardo? Everyone else doesn't even come close, including Hep. The thing that sets Coach Cig apart from all the other hires is his longevity of success. I personally think that's a big deal and we'll see it right away.
  7. I don't think the talent gap is all that bad. They just didn't have the proper coaching, but that's just me. I say this because of all the one score losses (4 total) on this year's schedule.
  8. IUFB hasn't had a coach like this, ever. I could be wrong but I believe IUFB will go bowling next year and we fans will enjoy the vast improvement of the product on the football field. We'll see a team that is disciplined, executes and has a completely different mindset then we are used to seeing. Again I could be way off but I'm really happy with who's running the program. I never thought in my lifetime we'd ever land a coach like him.
  9. Here we go. https://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa-proposing-new-college-athletics-subdivision-rooted-in-direct-athlete-compensation-145051537.html
  10. I use on3 but not sure of the validity. https://www.on3.com/transfer-portal/wire/football/2024/ Here's an example: https://www.on3.com/db/keshawn-williams-71610/ But honestly, they all kind of suck. I don't think TP offers are tracked as well as HS offers. Maybe it'll get better, who knows.
  11. I prefer a defensive battle but that's just me. Everyone is talking about how FSU never lost a game this year. Even without Travis, good defense be damned.
  12. Then again, it'll be extremely awkward if you're wrong. Especially if UM destroys them. Auburn, Arkansas and Texas A&M weren't really good football teams this year and they played them to one score wins. Auburn being the most dramatic only two weeks ago. I might be wrong but I truly think the SEC is the weakest conference this year. If not the weakest then one of the weakest. We'll see it all play out and for the sake of "earning the right" to play over an undefeated P5 school, I hope you are correct here.
  13. Yeah my hope is that the fans will want more than 12 teams. Personally I would like automatic bids for conference champions so that means at least a 16 team tournament in order for at large bids to compete.
  14. I actually think the SEC is the weakest conference this year. We'll see it all play out with Bama. But the ACC went 6-4 against the SEC this year and the PAC-12 went 7-3 against the field. https://topdan.com/college-football-conference-records/2023.html
  15. I'm not 100% certain, but I'm betting Coach Cig doesn't want you in his locker room with this type of mindset. "Chang the way they think." - Coach Cig
  16. He mentioned that phrase when asked what is his 'vision of the program'. So for me at least, the sky is the limit and your willingness to reach that is on everyone in that locker room including the man making the statement. He probably thinks we can win the whole effin thing (not just conference) right now just so long as everyone is all in. He's confident in his approach and that's contagious. He got asked how would he describe and grade what a successful 2024 season would be for IUFB? His answer was on brand with his mindset. It was tough for him to answer it and mentioned it's pretty hypothetical. So he just answered a successful season is having a team that invested everyday to be the best it could be and played consistent on Saturday. Gave an example of a team that was all in on what he and his staff was coaching. He than said, 'give me a team next year that listens, applies it, commits, plays it like we want them to play (process oriented), we're going to do ok.' This guy is trying to completely change a mindset and I'm so glad to see this type of coach at IUFB. Comment about IUFB: "It's time has come to make some noise and make a statement. And we're going to work everyday to make that happen." - Coach Cig
  17. He just basically told his team that they're all 5 star recruits. LOL!
  18. Turn off any adblockers you got on.
  19. My thoughts exactly. We weren't too far off to get 6 wins in the grand scheme of things. We actually weren't too far off to get 7.
  20. I know I'm getting ahead of myself but I won't be surprised if IUFB wins at least six games next year. In fact, I kind of expect it to be honest. I won't even be too surprised if we actually have an above .500 record. I have them winning all 3 of the non-conference games. And 3 conference games with 2 to 3 toss ups. There's a caveat though, it also won't surprise me if we just end up being IUFB that we all know and continue to cheer for regardless of how much misery we endure.
  21. In my opinion, that's his secret sauce of his winning. If Sorsby sticks around it'll be the best decision he'll ever make for his future. If he doesn't, Coach Cig will develop the next man up that earns the job. Again, just my opinion.
  22. There are a good handful that are and we currently have some commits that got offers from JMU. And if today's JMU team were in the conference they wouldn't be in last place, like us. Coach Cig is known for developing his players so personally, I'll take whoever we can get on the roster from that team.
