I'm glad to know IUFB played in the toughest division and lost to the best team in the country. I'm looking forward to the expanded playoff to shut up ESPN and folks like Finebaum about their beloved SEC. I'm predicting less titles from the SEC going forward.
-
It was me. Wow! I honestly didn't expect this.

Made updates to the list. Transfer rankings has us as high as 4 and as low as 29.

This seems to be what I'm hearing/reading a lot. Admittedly I know nothing about it and just go with the flow if that makes sense.
-
I certainly understand your point of view. I tend to agree with you actually. The only reason I brought it up is because now NIL is a variable and it's probably a little more complicated making the decision. I know personally, when someone knocks on my door, I always answer it. Even though I am perfectly happy at my place of employment. But that's just me. I don't know anything about the whole NIL/Portal combo and would really like to hear from someone with the know. That way I could get a little more educating on the subject if that makes sense. Hovadipo brought up another variable regarding a new coach coming in as well. During the signing day presser Coach Cig mentioned he wanted to weed out the players he didn't think fit for him. Dunnam might actually be one of those players he just didn't want on the team. Who knows. I guess my point was that it might not be all that simple in the grand scheme of things. That's all.
-
Man, that's probably a lot easier said than done. I can't imagine what is going through these players heads when making the decision to shop the market. It'll be interesting to here from folks in the know about the process and what kind of advise is being given.

Not for long. ;-)

Actually hoping for a blowout and a B1G final.
-
20 starters missing. It's disingenuous to think that FSU wasn't at the same level of Bama because the outcome of a pointless bowl game. Just my two cents.
-
I'm confident big change in CFB is coming. I don't know when or how but multiple tipping points have been hit and powerful people seemed to be aligned.
-
I wonder what the numbers are regarding bowl viewership. Like are they down or no difference. Anyone know?
-
What if 3 playoff games doesn't change this issue? Isn't it an enrollment time period issue? This is basically an unintended consequence from NIL in my opinion.

Losing one score games (4 this year) is the norm. Coach Cig tends to win those games. I'm expecting an improved football team with this coaching staff. Yeah, we've lost some players and filled those holes through the portal, but overall, it's pretty much the same team. Changing the way we think is part of the process. No self imposed limitations. Sky's the limit. -
Pass deflections are a big part of the position he's playing. Length is an attribute for that particular stat. Again, please don't take me out of context, it's no knock on the kid. I'm looking forward to see him wearing the cream and crimson.
-
Yes. Both Turner and Verse have length. Again no knock on him. I'm sure he'll fit right in and compete on the gridiron.
-
Good numbers for sure. Keep in mind those numbers are against schools like Georgia Southern. He's a tab bit "small" for the position so he'll have a big transition in talent level that he'll be facing every week. It's no knock on him. Most of the kids coming from JMU will have the same uphill challenge.

I won't be surprised if we go bowling next year. I also won't be overly disappointed if we don't. I see six games that can go our way, two possible games, one questionable game and the rest complete long shots. We will win more than three games and won't go to into OT against a MAC school. I'll be surprised if we don't win five games.

Apologies if this has been posted already.

30th HC for IUFB but technically he's 30.5 or 31st? In 1894 there were co-head coaches. -

Appreciate your response here. I asked the question because I wanted my IUFB brethren try to understand just how special this coach is. He's the guy I wanted before we parted ways with the coach he's replacing. IUFB is probably one of the worst programs in college football history. So we typically have low expectation. Most of us are excited to finish .500, because it's so rare. All of us have a desire of expectations that you have for your Dukes football. My hope is that he can create something special in Btown. Time will tell and IUFB is what it is. -

Thanks for sharing. Questions, what was your experience watching him coach Elon against your Dukes? Do you know if he cleaned house at Elon or if he won with the same players that were already there? And how surprised were you to see the quick turnaround with that school? -
A chance to experience free agency to better themselves is probably the motivating factor in like 90% of transfers. While the other percentages fall in the various categories from closer to home to coaching changes to personality conflicts on the team to flat being told to leave. I know if I were in their shoes I probably would do the same. It couldn't hurt to test the market. To be a student-athlete these days.
