    After watching Gunn on Friday he does have work to do. That said the athleticism and potential is there. Some of his LN teammates also need to realize who the best player on there team is too because they took some very questionable shots at times against HSE.

    IU was likely checking out Leland Walker and Joey Brown. This isn’t football or baseball recruiting. It’s basketball so Smith is committed to Purdue unless he decommits. IU wouldn’t be actively talking to him.

    I actually think that the portal moving forward will be tougher to get kids from the portal. Kids will think twice about entering since they can only do it once without having to sit. So there won’t be as many people entering as the last couple of years. Less people entering the portal will mean more competition to land the guys worth getting.

    Looking like it’ll be Syracuse. Until it’s announced anything can happen but at least he got it out of the way so IU has plenty of time to chase other recruits if that is the result.

    From a coach that was helping with the top 100 he said that Colvin was engaged and listened to instruction well from coaches. He said Hooks on the other hand went through the motion and just did his own thing. Said he was much more impressed with Colvin and if you didn’t now the rankings you would’ve thought he was the higher rated player. I can see why Fife likes him if that’s the case.

    He’s got a very strong frame for a 6’5 SF that just finished his sophomore year. We played him this year and you could see the strength and physicality that he could play with.

    He’s just going to try and continue on what K has already built. It’s no different than what Davis is going to do at UNC other than their age. With a program that’s established it’s stupid for a school to hire someone that’s going to come in and start changing things to do it their way.
