    Shaka Smart is in Bloomington today too. Bloomington is attracting all kinds of people today it looks like.

    The reality is both sides probably are at fault to some extent. Jake Query made it sound that way this morning based on what he’d heard from people after the announcement and there’s likely a lot to that.

    I believe he was the 3rd all time freshman scorer at Ball State behind Bonzi Wells and Ray McCallum. This guy can play.

    Can’t start working AAU events until April 7th due to the dead period. There is HS recruiting via communication and the portal that needs to be done so they do need to get this wrapped up but there is a little time before AAU stuff starts.

    Dane just needs to go get the Evansville job with Michael Lewis the favorite for Ball State and move on. That way he can try an out this in the rear view. IU needs to get a new assistant hired so they can do the same.

    In his defense he may view Matta as just being an admin and not someone that he needs to consult about day to day things. That said it’d be stupid not to some especially when you aren’t used to the college game but Woody is the one in charge.

    It’s known he listened to his consultants more than the assistants. Fife probably didn’t keep his mouth shut about it and got shown the door

    There’s talk Fife is currently buying a house in Bloomington. Seems odd for someone on the way out the door.

    He’s a project that won’t need to play right away. However he could be used as a gadget guy in certain situations based on his size and athleticism.

    I expect younger guys like Sales, Benson, and a few others plus the incoming freshman to help improve the line over guys like Jones. Not to mention Carpenter and Bedford will will be fine. The best OL talent on the roster this next year will be R-Jr's and younger.

    I think it's just as simple as the worst guys on the line last year were older players that won't be back. Jones was AWFUL all year for example. Some of the better talent on the OL will be freshman and sophomores. As those guys start to play plus Bedford is alright and I think Carpenter will be fine the OL should improve.
