Welcome Coach Miller
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I completely agree. Not doubting that but he know of the day Crean would be fired less than a week ago and after saying it on twitter he deleted it after a few hours and re posted the things will end badly if they do. Sounds like he was covering his sources but if he was in the know a few days ago he definitely heard things regarding our next coach before if he did lose his sources. Right my thoughts exactly. He has not been wrong this entire time. Not once. He has barely even been saying anything at all on twitter so not sure where the trolling comes from but someone that pinpointed the day of Crean being fired just on Tuesday probably STILL knows more than any of us and probably the same for 247. If we listen to those guys and dont question it then I have no clue why we would the janitor? Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

I just asked him on there tuesday night when Crean was gone and if and said it would be thursday or friday. Seems solid to me. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

I asked the Janitor on twitter if we had a real shot at Billy D and he said yes. Literally just yes lol but that is the confirmation I needed. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Sports Illustrated Hit Piece on Indiana

It is funny though. Who cares of anyone liked him here. They paid him to the amount of a top 10 coach and gave his daughter a free education. Any of us have bosses that dont know our name or care about us but ya know what? They pay us and keep food on the table and a roof over my head so regardless any boss I have had I have respected. Being in charge now my employees are my employees. If they dont do their job they get fired. It is that simple. Why should college coaches or athletes be held to a different standard when they get paid a heck of a lot more than most of us. If Crean won consistently here then we wouldnt be having this convo. If John missed the playoffs 5 years out of 9 he would be in jeopardy of losing his job as well. Jim is the only one who has an argument but the Niners wanted to go in a different direction and he sure didnt mind interviewing for other jobs before then as well. I understand being upset but other than that there is no need to take shots at our university. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

Janitor has not said a word about Billy D but even he backtracked himself the day before saying if things end they end badly. Janitor is well sourced though so I still trust him. These guys on 247 I have no clue if their legit but they have been 100% in saying Billy is coming. I am sure the more rumors we hear they may take some things back but I truly believe it could happen. No offense to OKC I love Victor but he is a 3rd option on a good team. 4th on a great team. Adams is a solid player but he probably knows unless they get another star and a few more role players a title isnt happening. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Yes they did!! Justin Anderson has played pretty well for us since the Noel trade. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I was trying to find this the other day. I remember that. Nothing beats when he gave that homeless guy 500 bucks either. Crean was a solid human being. He may have been an ******* to some but everyone has bad days. Crean is a good person more days than bad and that counts for something. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
The rape scandal and please tell me you dont find anything wrong w the Balls. He may have got him legit but that dude just gives off a bad vibe. I think Lavar is smart though if he was accepting money I doubt the NCAA would figure it out. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

The guys on 247 seem very confident about Billy D. First I have went over there honestly during all this. Didnt read everything but read enough to really get my hopes up. These guys will not have many fans for a few days if he doesnt come here. A month is a VERY long time to go without a coach but at a school like IU where you can afford to sit back and wait and still expect recruits to give you a shot it is worth it. If we dont have our coach at the beginning of April by then we should know if rumors have legs. I will be patient. This thread may become the new fire tom crean tho. Not referenced to us but wth is Mizzou doing to all of a sudden be the favorites for both Porters, Jeremiah Tilmon who has a CB to Mizzou now and Mark Smith rumors too. 4 top 75 kids by hiring Cuonzo Martin? Hopefully we get some momentum from our new coach too. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Yeah I would rather not see a reminder we missed on a big time coach once or twice maybe 3 times a year!! IU or bust for Marshall if we make it to him. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Archie coached a heck of a game too. Those two got played by the NCAA for having to play the first game against each other. WSU should have been at least a 5 or 6 seed. Nothing changes for me on Archie. 1. Stevens 2. Donovan 3. Bennett 4. Sean Miller 5. Archie/Marshall 6. Mike White 7. Alford/Enfield/Collins 8. Bryce Drew/Brad Underwood Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

5 straight years with a tourney win. I may not like his persona but he can coach the hell out of a team. That was the best win I have seen so far in the tourney based on coaching. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Dayton and WSU should not have had to play first game this year. NCAA knew what they were doing with this game and a potential UK matchup to follow. With that said both these guys showed me that they can coach. I would take either. If Marshall can beat UK I will really start to actually consider him in the top tier. 5 straight years with a tourney win is very impressive. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

Playoffs start April 15th and end May 29th. That is a long wait but plenty of time for Billy to get a impact guy or two to add with what we have coming back. With the potential losses in the B1G I would bet Billy gets us a top 4 finish. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

If Donovan wants us to wait then you wait. IDC if we miss on a recruit or two. I will gladly take one average to good year then a bunch of good to great years compared to the next guy that can give us good years with potential at great years but besides him there is no definite guy besides maybe Tony Bennett. We will have to wait till most candidates finish the tourney anyways. I am hoping for a first round sweep of OKC. Sorry Thunder fans. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

I dont want him going to NC State. Their fans demand almost what we do yet are battling Duke and UNC each year for local talent. I hope he goes to Washington or LSU. Those are the two schools I would take a hard look at if it were me. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

Stevens, Donovan, Bennett, Archie only calls he should make that are serious. Call Alford and Fife along with Wittman and Woodson offer any of them assistant head coach jobs. Donovan and Alford together would be an absolute dream. Even if it only lasted a few years lol. With that said I will fully endorse Fred Glass for President of the United States if he brings Billy Donovan here. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -

Yeah I am just happy that he left the program in better shape then he started. Crean was a lot of things and probably said a lot of things too but the thing I will remember him by and all my stories boil down to how much he loved this program. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app
