(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Too lazy to check, but does Kansas or Vandy have games tonight or tomorrow? I've heard that's also a reason for waiting till tomorrow, but both could come tonight or vice versa depending on when they play. -

Have heard Archie would rather make it to tomorrow's game, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see him there tonight. With the game ending so late last night and having to fly back and then get right back on the road for a game he knows Romeo will likely win I don't expect him there until tomorrow. Yes I know traveling is part of the job before anyone says anything lol, but in this case he should have at least one more shot to see him. I haven't heard or seen anything about Vandy or Kansas being there tonight or tomorrow either yet, but I expect one of them tomorrow as well if New Albany does win tonight. -

Not sure why it lumped USPS with this but I didn't mean Romeo isn't sold on IU. Just that regardless of who loves where ultimately it's Romeo's choice not Tims or Darius's or Coach Shannons -
You don't just show up on a mock draft in the 1st round as a relative unknown without having upside. I believe that was very premature and its why he hasn't been on another one for awhile, but he has the talent, he just doesn't have the strength or confidence yet. Heck he may never get it, but Archie is a guy that if Moore believes in him could live up to at least a little bit of it. I also really liked his high school tape.

This is gold and wouldn't be shocked if these words didn't actually come out of his mouth lol -

Didn't mean to come on harsh. Apparently majors are the next reason for the visit so he's obviously interested. Just have no clue if it's as much as Tim. IU has a great Journalism school & Kelley speaks for itself so I think the visit will be great and help us at least make it a tough decision at the very least. -

Preciate it. I've heard way too much of them wanting to visit again before yesterday to not think we weren't in for another spin in this. It's not just for show either, IU still has a shot in this. -

BTW if it was up to Tim solely, IU would have had this wrapped up already but it's not. It's great but Romeo is the one we need to sell. -

Lots of talk this morning, but just like any other recruit when pro whatever school stuff comes out, they get some momentum. This one isn't over quite yet though and the fat lady hasn't hit a note yet. Fingers crossed, but I like what I've heard so far. Go get em Archie!! If not we'll get the next kid who wants to put on candy Stripes and I'm just fine with that. -

Hopefully we get an official visit date soon so we have an idea of when he will announce -

This makes sense from what I heard. The he wanted to be sure for a week or so before announcing and the dates possibly getting pushed back. I said IU would likely get to make a final pitch, but i didn't know the IU visit was going to be the reason he was possibly gonna delay his decision if he does delay it just to make sure he gets to talk to Archie. Like I said not a done deal yet but this also doesn't mean we're getting him. Definitely good news though for sure. -

I know but if I put him at the 4 with Morgan at the 5 like I truly think will happen, I'm gonna get flack regardless. We have a good problem up front. -
No one panic, not my intended purpose, but I made a tweet about Al having a bright future, but you can tell he's raw at times. I communicate with Southern Stampede and don't want this taken out of context. He deleted the tweet shortly after so he knew it wasn't a smart idea. We talked a bit and I don't have a sense if Al isn't happy, but wanted to share in case anyone else has heard anything. This could just be him looking out for Al and thinking he deserves more time who knows. Anyone have any further input?

PG: Rob Phinisee SG: Devonte Green or Al Durham despite the rumblings SF: Justin Smith PF: Juwan Morgan C: De'Ron Davis Bench Rotation of: Jerome Hunter, Race Thompson, Clifton Moore, Damezi Anderson, Jake Forrester, whichever guy doesn't start at the 2, I've seen enough improvement from guys this year to think it'll be even better with some additions by subtraction as well as having a pure point guard that with or without Romeo I like this roster and our future. Juwan, Smith & De'Ron give us 3 legit options. If Green continues to improve as well as Durham that's good guard depth at the 2 with Damezi. My main concern is who handles the ball when Rob isn't out there? I believe we go the grad route for a guy or two depending on Romeo and transfer possibilities. Archie has my complete faith and I'm behind him 100% of the way. Romeo isn't a life or death recruit, yes he'd be awesome to have, but I believe Archie will fill the spots with good enough talent to round the roster out. -

Bowen supposedly choose them because of Chucky so if we really wanted him and did cross the line of entering the gray are, Bowen wouldve seriously considered us yet we were barely even mentioned throughout his entire recruitment. -

The weirdest part about Chuck Martin and Brian Bowen thing is now that Martin is at South Carolina so is Bowen. -

Stating we'd get him as a last resort is a lazy take. This kid passed on Duke & UK and could've went anywhere but he decided his top 3. Besides U of L due to everything going on with them, there isn't a school that hasn't attempted to get him if the interest was mutual. -

Exactly!! Doesn't make sense. Now you give all these schools a head start pretty much to figure out the route they need to take. -

The thing that makes me mad, is that they just let America know which schools and some instances just what players I'm sure are dirty. Now opposing fan bases are gonna go back and forth and etc. Any school that loses a recruit to any of these schools whether the kid really wanted to go there or not is going to question things. Basically it's just going to confuse everyone and if anything help those schools. If this is the worst that can happen and maybe a few wins taken off is all that's going to happen, why not risk it? This isn't the good news people thought it'd be unless the hammer actually hits some of these schools, which I just don't see. UK like I said above is the only one with multiple kids and over 100,000 grand. Please tell me why we lost scholarships and had to pretty much start from scratch when Sampson made too many damn phone calls. I know things have changed a lot since then, but man Sampson is a saint compared to half these coaches nowadays. -

Quick wrap up: UK: Bam Adebayo, Kevin Knox Duke: Wendell Carter Kansas: Josh Jackson MSU: Miles Bridges And of course Vanderbilt: Wade Baldwin There are others I know, but out of all that report, UK honestly is the only school that may have anything even happen too.
