Indiana vs Rutgers Saturday 11/5 12PM ET on BTN

The only things that scares me is the early kickoff. Wouldn't be surprised to see Wilson call an onside kick or early trick play to try to get the guys energized early. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Signal stealing is something that goes on everywhere. Every staff has guys looking across the field to see if they can pick up on anything from the other sidelines. It's why offenses go to great lengths to disguise and mislead with intricate signs and signaling systems. Always been surprised that defenses haven't gone that route yet. EDIT: I have no idea if IU does, but it's just something that's not that uncommon, and in my opinion is fair game unless you are using technology to try to steal them. Candy stripe unis for the Nebraska game

I wonder if it will actually say Hoosiers on the back or if it will be the player's name (noting that adidas can't uses the names of players in advertising.) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    Indiana defeats MSU! Postgame Thread

This is definitely true. I always remember Sudfeld having consistency issues really all the way until he returned after missing the PSU game last season when he took over and willed us to a bowl game. The true irony of the Lagow criticism is that he has a higher completion percentage right now than Nate did for any season. Lagow definitely has room to improve, and a few of the INT's have looked ugly, but he has had to shoulder a much larger burden than anticipated this early with the injuries up front (not to mention the fact that he hasn't had the luxury of Simmie Cobbs at all this season) and here we are at 3-1 with a victory over Sparty, he has completed over 62% of his passes, thrown for over 1200 yards and has accounted for 11 touchdowns. For a guy 4 games into D-1 competition, I'll take it.

With Oakes there was no such thing as a chip shot. I liked going for the TD in that position with the way the D was playing having MSU pinned down if not converted Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I don't want to speculate because I know nothing about the young man, or situation, but the fact that he confessed leads me to believe that he didn't think what he was doing is wrong, (most child molestation cases the perp will go to great lengths to conceal the crime) he is likely in need of professional help and my only hope is that the criminal justice system does its job and properly serves justice to all the parties involved. 10. From the video posted today it looked like Feeney might have been practicing in a non contact jersey. Could have been another linemen though. Usually last step of concussion protocol is a practice with full gear and no contact that you get through symptom free. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I'm ready for 2016 IU Football

Husky is the rolled down safety. Stinger is what they call the weakside backer. Bandit was the rush backer in Knorr's defense, not sure if they still call one of the end's the bandit.

(2017) TE Michael Ziemba to IU

I don't think it would. I really believe that the only positions that recruiting other guys at the same positions hurts you are QB and RB. One, those guys usually have a bigger ego than other position players. Secondly, those are the only positions where only one guy can play at a time (typically). I guess only one kicker, punter and long snapper play at a time, but we usually don't end up in heated recruiting battles for those guys. LOL.

I don't know, with Oliver, Scales and Simmons being proven at ILB (take proven as you will) Newton was already at a disadvantage coming from the old SAM backer position to Mike or the new "Stinger" position. Plus, I think the coaches see Oliver and Scales as the best 2 guys at LB by a decent margin and will want them on the field as much as possible. Finding a niche as the "big back" while Patrick is rehabbing the knee could very well get him on the field more than LB. CKW has shown even with a stud back like Coleman or Howard, he still prefers to get up to 3 backs in the game (mostly because of how many snaps our offense plays, it would be insane to ask 1 or even 2 guys to carry that load all season. Without Patrick and not counting Natee, all our backs are in the 205 range. It is odd though, on it's face, for a guy to switch positions this late in the game. Wilson is big on guys being at their best when they are happy with where they are though. Either way he is likely a guy that contributes on every special team and can probably slide easily back to LB if need be.

Word on the street is that some of his "big time offers" are self reported and bogus. Still a talented kid, nonetheless. Just seems to have some baggage. Hopefully when he gets here he is ready to really commit, for lack of a better term.

100% Thigpen was electrifying. Bennett was very good too, and maybe he had better overall numbers, but I think Thigpen at his best was the best we've had returning Kick Offs.
  17. Very nice collection of P5 offers for this kid. Looks like he could be a difference maker on defense, shows great explosion and speed on film.

Zander's bucket performance and his run against OSU will endear him to most fans forever, but the bottom line is he isn't very good. The offense looks totally inept 90% of the snaps he plays. He caught OSU out of position on a zone read and in poor pursuit angles because they had been preparing for Suddy all week and probably hadn't repped a single QB run in practice. Everyone remembers the long run and near miracle vs OSU but quickly forgets the stinker the following Saturday in Happy Valley. I would love it if Zander gained 20 pounds and developed D1 arm strength, because he is a great kid and ambassador for IUFB, but until then, he best serves the team with a clipboard in his hand.

    Vegas picks for next year

We really owe Rutgers one in Piscataway this season. It is hard to make any predictions without knowing really what to expect from the QB position. But just based on the talent returning around the QB on offense and hopefully not starting an true freshman on defense this season, plus Allen and Hagen, assuming we get decent QB play I'd like to think that we can..... Run the table in the NonCon Take care of business at home vs Maryland and PU Exact revenge in Piscataway Win one out of Penn St, Nebraska or Northwestern.

The Rock is getting new turf

Yeah, that looks like the way to go. Personally I don't like aesthetics of the endzone pattern/fill color not filling out the entire endzone. So I guess I'd prefer to have it the way it is (or will be shortly) rather than a candy striped endzone in the "Tennessee design"

The Rock is getting new turf

Just dawned on me why a candy striped endzone could probably never happen. You can't have anything white (or cream) bordering the goal line, end line or sideline. I guess you would have to use a buffer color around the edges, but then it really wouldn't be "candy stripe".
  23. They wouldn't care if Conner had a grade A personality and was a transcendent leader for his teammates. But when you take the questions floating around about him and throw in a dickhead dad, well maybe like father like son. I know Conner Cook. He is not a bad guy, but he's not a guy I'd want as my franchise QB, just my opinion. Seems a lot of the NFL felt the same way.
