  1. Wiscy barely holds on to save the Big Ten's bacon and win the challenge. Badgers look like second best team in Big Ten behind Purdue.
  2. All down to Wiscy.
  3. Wiscy tight again. PSU falling apart.
  4. Looks like Wiscy and/or Penn State will save Big Ten.
  5. NC State finally wins and Big Ten on verge of blowing challenge if it can't get one of the three late games.
  6. For anyone wondering 7ot's is most ever in a college basketball game.
  7. You're 33% there. 4 OT's is 1/3 of way to 12 OT's:). LOL
  8. 4 OT's! Keep playing and wearing out Nebraska.
  9. Its in triple OT. No one has won.
  10. Well Nebraska may be more tired than IU Saturday. Playing one day later and now they are going Triple OT with NC State. IU's double OT not looking so long now:). This game also was stopped for a fight late in the second half.
  11. Other Big Ten/ACC Challenge Results: 1. Purdue getting better and beat a middle of the road Georgia Tech team with a buzzer beater 2. A bad Rutgers team got beat by a good Pitt team. 3. Nebraska has been the Big Ten's surprise so far and dominated Wake Forest 4. A very bad Wisconsin team was easily handled by a decent Virginia Tech Team 5. Stunner of the night: A really good Ohio State team lost to a really bad Syracuse team. 6. A bad Minnesota team down big at the half to a good North Carolina team.
  12. We are probably going to lose relatively handily this game and we should not feel bad about it. NC State is on another level and blew out Maryland. They also blew out a good Kansas State and Florida team and a decent Washington State and Towson team. No team has come within 18 points of the Wolfpack outside of top ranked South Carolina who beat them to open season and both those team are on another level. It is NC State's first road game but I don't think that matters that much. More interesting will be games coming up against Ohio State and Maryland who are really good, but certainly beatable and will be a measuring stick to where team actually is. Hanging in there against Stanford was a great sign, but NC State is even better and I don't think anyone will be able to beat them or be that competitive. If we stay within ten points we have every reason to be optimistic about season.
  13. Not sure on Celentano yet or other guys going pro. Only Bezerra specifically tweeted he is leaving, hence why they brought in Henderlong to fill that exact role.
  14. This one is really big: IU just poached Karsen Henderlong as a grad transfer from Xavier. He was their primary offensive player and an elite scorer who had eight goals last year and seven each in the two seasons before that. With Bezerra going pro, I assume he becomes our main scorer in the forward role. Would expect similar production at IU and is from Indiana and an elite recruit out of high school.
  15. Michigan State did pretty close to that this year.
  16. An update on Maryland who suffered blowouts to both our next opponent NC State and a Stanford team we just talk to wire. Maryland was without two of their top players. With that said they have five other top players who are were available. Gives me more confidence we can compete with NC State at full strength since we did the same with Stanford when they did not. The Terps though still should of been more competitive and I hope IU is. When you have seven of the top 15 players in the Big Ten, losing two should still be more than adequate to stay with anyone in country. I liken it to IU soccer. When you have 11 players and five bench guys who would start almost anywhere else in country, losing two to three top players should not drastically alter your results. Any other team in the Big Ten can use that as an excuse with two to three top players, but Maryland having seven it should be better.
  17. Ugh. Inexcusable to let a mediocre Miami team back into the game twice after building a big lead and the Hurricanes had a great look at a three for the win at the buzzer they missed. Never apologize for a win, but for first time this season we looked anything but the top 5-10 team we are. Hopefully this a fluke. Maryland got pounded by Stanford today (rather than the close game we had), so if we play up to our ability I feel better about the NC State game Thursday now and also our ability to compete with Terps in the Big Ten. Still improvement needed but 5-1 is exactly where I had us at this point.
  18. This is a game you win comfortably if IU is the team we think they are. IU is certainly better than Washington State and the Cougars handled the Hurricanes pretty easily. Also, Miami is picked a middle to bottom ACC team and they didn't exactly win comfortably in their cupcake games. This is a decent win for the resume, but it's one you get if you want to be a top 4 seed and host NCAA games as Coach Moren keeps talking about.
  19. Stanford just lost a thriller to a really good South Florida team. Doesn't say much more about how good IU is other than Stanford, IU and USF are really good, but still interesting to note.
  20. Miami got beat big by Washington St today who is not the greatest team in their own right. If IU is actually the top 5-10 team they look so far, this is a game you win comfortably against the Hurricanes Saturday.
  21. I am not even mad about that loss. We went toe-to-toe with a legit top 5 team proving are a true top 5-10 team as well. Any win against Stanford, NC State or Maryland this yr is a bonus, but a top 2 Big Ten finish and a 23-6 record is very much in reach and after today I am more confident we can do that. Most teams don’t have Stanford’s length inside to make our inside game miserable but we hung in there. We actually played far better than the last win against Quinnipiac, but not enough in a game that could go either way.
  22. Not sure NC State game is winnable next week now. They are absolutely mauling Maryland early today and the Terps are better than IU. NC State has a loss to South Carolina in a close game but right now the Gamecocks and Wolfpack look like far and away the best teams in country. While you should never concede any game, right now I would say if you can finish the non-conference with only losses to Stanford today and NC State (and honestly the game today looks more gettable as Stanford has lost to a Texas team that is pretty similar to IU) it will be a success. I am not dumping on our Hoosiers at all and they are a legitimate top 10 team, but NC State and Stanford are on another level (as is Maryland possibly).
  23. I think Holmes was trying to hard in front of her family and missed many easy layups she normally makes. She makes five more of them and does her normal damage and it's an easy 20 point win. Instead Berger rescued IU down the stretch and we survived our first nail biter of the year. Need to be better in Bahamas against elite competition but a win is a win.
  24. The toothpaste team said cupcake games are bad for your teeth and go brush them;).
  25. Berger can make from half court but offense looks horrific and missing easy shots. Not sure how team looks so fluid first three games and horrific this game.
