  1. and senior night net cutting embarrassment vs OSU. That to me despite all the ups and downs remains the low point in Crean's tenure.
  2. http://kentsterling.com/2017/03/13/indiana-basketball-iu-ad-fred-glass-chooses-broken-window-over-cracked-foundation-iubb/ I agree. As I've said IU was between a rock and a hard place. Sterling has also been pretty anti-crean to my understanding.
  3. Didn't want to re-live Vanderbilt game of 05 with 4,500 people. That's how many would of come and Glass basically said IU didn't want to re-live that. Reasonable people can disagree whether that is a good idea or a good reason but that's why,
  4. Everybody thought they would from the beginning. Different fan base that is in town all yr. Women will draw 2,000 whether its regular season or WNIT and not affected by break and that's expected. If the men drew even twice that people would laugh. Different situations.
  5. That's an alternate smaller on campus arena. I'm sure if IU had a smaller on campus arena they would jump at that and the new replacement for U-Gym would be an ideal solution starting in 2020 when it opens for this situation. However, right now IU has no where on campus you can host a basketball game at this moment besides Assembly Hall. Certainly being at U-Gym and the Field house a ton I can tell you those cannot host basketball games anymore. Neither can Wildermuth.
  6. Not sure if that would of worked or not. Would free tickets have filled place. I'm not sure? I think the bigger problem here is people are looking for anything to criticize the program for right now given the state of what where it's at. That falls on Glass and Crean and that is 100% their fault for letting it get to this point. The criticism of not hosting an NIT game is anger placed at the larger issue at hand and this is the easy thing to throw it at right now.
  7. How much do we want to bet if IU hosted and 3,000 people showed up people would of trashed IU also. I also think IU maybe should of hosted but don't have a strong opinion either way. However, from an IU perspective they were gonna be criticized either way but after game as oppose to before. And I think they might not let you host at other sites unless your arena is unavailable. Like I said I'm not positive on that but do think that is possible.
  8. Glass has reiterated today that ESPN saying renovations was something that ESPN invented on its own. I thought that was ESPN's mistake and not IU's from the moment it was said and have texts to prove it. We can reasonably argue whether IU should of hosted and how Fred Glass handled it but the renovation part was not IU's fault.
  9. I'm not positive on this but I think if you decline to host in your home gym than lower seed gets to. Don't think they let you hold on 'neutral' sites unless your arena is being used or renovated. Again I'm not sure on this but I'm thinking this could be the case.
  10. Anyone who feels like they have been 'cheated' over not being able to go to an NIT home game should re-evaluate their life. I can tell you as a several year season ticket holder I had no interest in going to this game even if tickets were offered for free. Now granted I'm in Indy and not Bloomington so people in town may feel differently. Still I run down for every weekday Big Ten game despite having to wake up at 8am everyday for work. Not doing it for NIT though. If we keep Crean than people should be calling for Fred Glass and all higher ups head in the department but not over declining to host an NIT home game.
  11. Here's a thought. Maybe Crean wanted to host NIT game and Glass hopes that by denying him that opportunity he'll resign on his own and Glass won't have to fire him. Probably not a sound theory but no crazier than any of the others I've seen tonight.
  12. For what its worth Terry Hutchens tweeted he believes there is more to this than what meets the eye in terms of IU's explanation for passing on hosting game. I'm not sure what he knows or believes is the actual motivation but thought that was interesting.
  13. The 'renovations' was a mistake by ESPN. IU has said from the get go from moments after the bracket went out that 'it was due to students being on break'. Not sure if this is a good excuse but no one at IU every tried to put something out there about renovations.
  14. What is this "btown insider" saying? As I've said I place no weight on posters but just curious.
  15. I may be in the minority but glad IU didn't host. After embarrassment in 05 of under 5,000 people attending why have that again?
  16. Bingo. Thats where i'm at
  17. I have an HT subscription and the article stated nothing new. Just that the players back Crean as you would expect. Nothing earth shattering.
  18. 2013-2014. That Pre-Conference tourney in New York that year does not count anymore that our invented tourney this year to play IPFW.
  19. I've seen one "insider" thing that pointed to him being gone several weeks ago but would not make it certain in anyway. Just remember what big time donors think matters (especially ones with names on a university building). That's all I will say.
  20. What about our run in 02 to National Championship? That was exactly 15 yrs ago so I can see you not taking that into account except your also saying 3 Big Ten Tourney semi's one of which in 01 (and its actually 4 since we went to semi's in 02 and lost on Recker's shot) occurred before our national title run in 02.
  21. Evidence that he may be gone. So we are at one thing saying Crean may stay (He's still recruiting) and one that he may be gone (Glass saying nothing). I am discrediting all "supposed insiders" as evidence since I believe no one. Like I said tea leaves are pointing sideways with no real evidence either way. We'll see what happens.
  22. Or he's been told nothing so he is working business as usual. Often people fired from jobs conduct business normally till the moment they are fired even if the signs of it happening are likely. I am not saying we know for sure Crean will or won't be back but nothing I've seen so far (still recruiting, message board insiders) to sway me either way based on available evidence. I am still unsure and waiting to see how it plays out.
  23. Another supposed insider. I trust no one. He may be right but lets see what happens. Social media has turned our world to the point where one posts from a supposed insider causes hundreds a mass freakout. The good and the bad of modern technology and social media are at work.
  24. Does this freak out have more to do with actual "inside info" (which I don't believe) or the fact that no move has been made yet? Either way people need to chill and see what happens.
  25. Isn't Waters already signed with Georgetown?
