You've been around way too long to have posted the way you did the other night which is why I said you should back away for a while. You elected not to.... Do I think I'm "important?" I'm not the one who constantly makes things about me. Think about that for a second. And you've posted here over 12,000 times... Who's the one worried about "important?"

There are a lot of people who tell me things like they're facts. If I cared, I wouldn't be here. Did I go on a profane tirade the other night? Oh wait....that was you. Hearing what I want to hear and not giving a damn are different things. Edit : And much like Dakich's show...people keep reading and responding. It's actually kinda' fun. Lots of guys get all worked up - same as they do about Dakich, and the replies just keep on comin'. Especially from the same guys. It's a neat experiment.

Completely your prerogative. I've got a different perspective. I've heard him compliment Archie enough to believe he doesn't have some personal vendetta against him; and I know him personally (and a couple of his close friends) to know he's not close to the person he's painted as here. I also agree with him enough that I hear what he says differently than some do.

It wasn't "definitely." See edit above. It was a reference to something else. Overdone, maybe. But not at all a definite shot. In your perspective? Perhaps. Not necessarily "definite" though.

I took it as a relationship to his boss "Big Glass." The "Big Glass" wasn't referenced during Crean's tenure. To me? Some people are looking for reasons to be critical; frequently not understanding the reasons or the whole story. It was only "very obvious" if you didn't in this case. If you did know, it's not quite so obvious and at the very least, open to interpretation. There are always 2 sides to a story. Just perspective. Unless "little Archie" was a reference to someone else's Twitter posting (AJ Guyton, I think) who said "Big Glass better get this one right." It was something other than a shot...

I have not heard the things he says as pot shots or under the belt blows. What I HAVE heard are hard truths on occasion; and I don't have a problem with that. You certainly have the right to take issue. I just don't because I think he's absolutely right and I've never heard him be unfair.

I know he's done it a couple of times referring to Indiana's decision to avoid even interviewing Knight guys for the head coaching position and others not honoring people or teams that deserve it (never Knight himself). I have never once (and I listen a lot because I'm in the car a lot) heard him say anything about Indiana that wasn't generally true or accurate at the time. Maybe I see things the way he sees them and many here don't. That's very possible. But I have not one single time found him to be "eating his own." I've found him refreshingly critical and extremely truthful. His takes this week about Pat Shoulders and the Board of Trustees was square on the head of the nail, for example. Not popular and not what people would ever want to hear; but there are reasons we've been where we have for the last 20 years and he just points them out. Same as he called Clarence Doninger and his BOT idiotic for hiring Gerry DiNardo when Urban Meyer wanted to interview. "we have our man," he was told. "Okay..." he said. But looking out for IU, he knew Meyer (who was the head coach at BGSU at the time) was an up and coming star... Sometimes, coaches know. He knew. And he rips IU for it. True stories don't always equal "eating your own." You know as well as I do NOBODY wants inside scoop more than Indiana fans. He gives it to them in doses and just gets killed for it. Which is the part I don't get. Truth really hurts some people.

What exactly do you think radio hosts are paid to do?? Why do you think people are given radio shows? Would you rather every host be boring, dry, and devoid of anything outside your box? Hell yes, I'll take a buffet over a menu with 2 things on it. Bingo...we have a winner. I'm reading some of the posts on here and it sounds like a few 7 year old kids wondering how so many people can be so STUPID to LIKE something so STUPID! Just comical. Dakich is what he is. Like him or not. His show just won "best mid day show" for 2018, and we have people nitpicking the language of that and others comparing it to winning some YMCA basketball award. Jealous much? Dakich is as loyal to Indiana University as anyone anywhere...which does NOT mean he has to keep his mouth shut if he has a critique. And he also says nobody eats their own like IU. I simply don't get it. There are people in the world who just want to argue and find the worst in everything and everybody. Whoever TheHoosierFanatic is has 45 followers and 228 tweets. Sorta' insignificant in the scheme of things. Just another guy with a keyboard and a problem. Dakich is a talk show host who has a show as successful as a local talk show can be. Pays a compliment to a team he's been hard on and this is the response. Every announcer I know of loves doing games with him. He's got 155,000 Twitter followers....for a reason. Just shaking my head. Some don't like his style, and I get that, but he ain't wrong!

His radio show was rated the #1 local sports talk show in the country. What is your particular problem with him? I listen frequently. He's an entertainer. Paid to do just that. He's not paid to be boring and put on an act. He's not paid to tell listeners what they want to hear or sugar coat. That'd be just like everyone else. Like Mike Greenberg. No thank you. Guy's being himself and personally? I hear a hell of a lot more truth than I do "insufferability." He's spot on as it relates to the BOT and Fred Glass's bull crap and he's spot on about lots of things. People may hate him, but they listen. Same as they listen to Rush Limbaugh. Sometimes, raw and unpopular truths don't sit well. Think of his rating for a minute. In Indianapolis, IN....The #1 local sports talk show in the country. He's doing a whole lot very, very right.

Yeah....that was bad tonight. B!tching about how the game was officiated when his team was called for fewer fouls and shot more FT's than Indiana. They missed 14 FT's and got out-rebounded by 8. Indiana had 20 OR's and it was poor officiating that cost them. I wonder if he can hear my eyes rolling from East Lansing?
