  1. I can’t speak to overall facilities but they did send a survey out to season ticket holders showing a wide range of potential upgrades for fans in the stadium. This included stadium seating with cup holders! Also showed premium seating in various spots in the stadium and asked about price points for all the stuff. Also showed off a cool sports bar setting in stadium or a club area to hang out in before, during, and after games. They showed pictures from all across the NCAA and what other programs have done. It was clear they put some solid thought into what could be done to improve the fan experience, including upping the food options, so hopefully that same approach is being taken on the program side.
  2. The more I think about it the more I like this. Let them sell their vision and get a robust pool to do so and see who really brings it. IU needs someone that gets where college football is going. On the flip what IU says about the commitment to NIL, facilities, and coaches pay will in turn inform the candidates if IU understands what they need to do to survive the BIG in 2024 and beyond.
  3. I’m very curious how much IU is willing to spend on the next coach as that will be part of why first list candidates may turn down IU
  4. This is all fair. Honestly I would be ok with an offensive coordinator from a solid team. I think IU needs that type of culture build. Need a big time feel to come in and lift the program up.
  5. I do think this is a good example of why the transfer window needs to have some limits or the NCAA needs to increase the allowed resources for schools to manage the portal. A lot of additional work each year to re-recruit your current players along with new transfers on top of the standard recruiting.
  6. Isnt it time we rasie that bar? The best IU football coaches don't sniff the rest of the BIGs best coaches, that's all I'm saying. So maybe we raise the bar with this hire a little if its possible before going to Candle. And maybe in the end he is the best option, i will live with that just fine. I just think its time to raise the bar as the BIG is only going to get bigger and tougher.
  7. I’ll throw out a name that isn’t IU but was BIG, Darrell Hazell. As for IU, they always go safe or on the cheap IMO. Wilson to me was a great bold hire from a power school. I want to be clear that Candle may rock it at IU but man the hire just doesn’t scream bold or flashy, something IU has never been over the past 75 years. Everyone dreams about coach Hep but sadly he never got the chance to fully prove what he could be so I don’t think he is valid. Mallory’s record at IU overall at IU isn’t great. The fact our greatest coach has a career 46% win percentage tells me maybe it’s worth spending some extra cash on a proven coach if they can get one. If not I’ll be the first to light a Candle in the wind and root him on.
  8. I personally just can’t get behind a Candle hire. I will still support him and the team and would hope he proves me wrong but I just think that’s a classic IU hire. You need to be ready for the new BIG and the fresh competition while taking advantage of the dissolved divisions. I would really prefer a power 5 experienced coach or an up and coming OC like the guy at Washington.
  9. Dexter Williams now in the portal, ugh
  10. I’m just not remembering correctly, might be the afternoon beer lol
  11. Was he committed somewhere else? Maybe that’s what I am mistaken on
  12. Is he graduating? He already transferred so he has to sit out unless he’s graduating.
  13. This hire just doesn’t do it for me. I would rather get a power 5 OC. A MAC coach no matter how good just doesn’t scream commitment to the new BIG.
  14. There seems to be smoke of Day running to Texas A&M which would be hilarious as I am sure OSU is getting heat to dump him.
  15. This times 100! I have been saying this for weeks over at HSN. 2024 is the start of a new era for the BIG and someone needs to make a non IU type of hire and the president is into sports. She may give the nod needed to make that happen.
  16. I think that’s fair, just noting I believe that was the scuttlebutt at the time
  17. Wasn’t FSU open at that time? I feel like a Florida school was potentially eyeing him.
  18. Fair, but I would also say he’s loyal to a fault. In particular with his coaches. I talked to a few players families and I would tell you there was a reason a lot of veteran players left after last year.
  19. I wish I could fail at my job but note what a great leader I am of the men and women on my team in order to keep my job lol
  20. I get it but I also think with the money the BIG has, the most of any conference currently the money is there to at least try.
  21. I’m joining the talk over here as HSN has been light on this topic and you guys are engaged. I have been saying for weeks the new 2024 BIG is no joke and this next year is pivotal to what IU football will be in that BIG. Will they be a big time player, no, but they need to invest like never before to even have a chance. Frankly the BIG should expect more out of schools like IU with the revenue coming in. To your point that list is an exact opposite of meeting that 2024 BIG expectation. IU needs to take a successful power 5 coach and show him the money. My list was: Winningham at Utah Leopold at Kansas Oregon St coach but he is gone Will never happen but be bold and have the balls to bring in Briles now that he recently got cleared by the courts I recently filled out a survey on all the upgrades they want to do to memorial stadium. I personally won’t be donating a dime more for any of it unless they fire CTA and make a real committed hire.
  22. I may be wrong but thought his was the underground parking accesss to SSAH. Entrance is on the North East corner. No?
  23. I see no way if by some miracle Brad came to IU that the program can wait until the end of the NBA season to announce him as coach unless they are ok with a really long term rebuild. All the transfer in the portal would be gone by the. Both from IU and ones IU could bring in. The team would be completely decimated and I just don’t see having a filler coach for a few months helping in any way. I think a coach has to be announced within a week of the end of the tournament to right the ship and start building and seeing what you can retain for next year.
