Seems like coach is holding tryouts at certain positions. Prove your worth and program buyin. No problem with this, the roster needs turnover and competition.

I think each year hundreds of players have ended up without a scholarship after entering the portal. Risk and reward, but be sure to understand the risk.

I stated this over on HSN. Expect the JMU nine to set the tone for the team. Expect them to hold players accountable and tell them exactly what the coaches expect. I would expect more discipline a d less dumb penalties with these new players helping to integrate the whole team into the CCC experience. Whether they play or not look at these JMU players as culture spreaders.

This is not a rebuild year, they are going to go in there and win. Man I love it, exactly what I was hoping for in a new coach. No more doormat expectations and maybe in 4-5 years IU can make a bowl. This is the attitude you need in a coaching staff in the new BIG

While optimism is high, including with myself I’ll be happy with a winning record next year and beating Nebraska here when my friends come in town to tailgate from there. Anything else is gravy.

IKR. I know coming out of Covid they had tons of issues with deliveries to the student food areas. There are other things I won’t mention but there is a population at IU from a service perspective that would love to move away from Coke. What’s interesting with Adidas is I talked to someone the other day that is involved with a lot of purchasing and they were like Adidas is fine. I started naming off issues like quality and overall offerings. Noted how Homefield apparel has way better selection like their awesome bomber jacket and gave examples of things Nike/Jordan has like real stitched on jerseys. They had their eyes opened a little but I suspect quite a few others are in the same boat.

I like Coke better than Pepsi, but weirdly I prefer Pepsi zero over Coke Zero. Dew is king.

I don’t think it’s the same for Adidas. But I did hear one or both have the right to match any offer I believe. Not sure what the stranglehold is with Coke as per my understanding they have not lived up to the contract on multiple occasions.

My understanding is both the Adidas and Coke contracts will be negotiated soon, including looking at other vendors. I suspect a full RFP for both. Similar to what happened with the book store recently and the move from Barnes & Noble to Follet.

Yeah I don’t see him staying after seeing the success Penix has had after leaving. I’m. It sure Michigan is the right place for him as they rely on the run way more than the pass. But he also has two IU guys that love it up there after transferring so I could see him ending up there for sure.

I would respectfully disagree. I have old Nike gear that still is holding up better than my adidas gear. Still can’t get real stitched jerseys from adidas (yes I’m a jersey snob), but at schools like Michigan I can go to a game and get custom stitched jerseys at the game! Also next time you go into the store at assembly hall pay attention to what gear is what. I would tell you Homefield (run by IU grads I believe) destroys adidas with their offerings, including that badass retro bomber jacket. We are an after thought to adidas IMO, or if anything they dont invest in IU like other programs.

The survey they sent out had them adding more seating with seat backs and cup holders. Likely in closer to the field sections at a premium price.
