I love it! Freddie makes the hoop and Coach rips into him for the defensive lapse the trip before! Knight-like—teachable moments! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Devonte is sloppy at times and gets beat sometimes on D —and doesn’t have the best shooting percentage but he is a volume shooter. Just when I wonder what Archie sees in him—he pulls a Seton Hall half or the first half of this game. He is fearless and we need someone willing to take big shots as we play against tougher D’s —will be fun to watch him develop this year Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Sure would like to see Juwan become a double-double machine or at least a threat —he appears to be becoming what we have been hearing about in practice Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Nice half —good D—limited the turnovers—got to see Archie light into the Hoosiers for not getting on the floor for a loose ball and got to see the Hoosiers respond with a nice closing run—now let’s see if we can do it again next Half for the first time this season for a complete game—baby steps but improvement can be seen! Wow—Shittu too?? I know they are the Commodores and they like their water and all —but sure seems like something FISHY is going on down there. If they get Romeo -I will be convinced of it....The Drew’s—well that’s all I am going to say for now. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Corruption in College Basketball

Yikes. I wondered about KJ. I still hope IU doesn’t somehow get drug into the middle or even the edge of this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
rebelhoosier848891 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Great start to the season for Romeo! 48 points. Ok—I am going to say it. I know Archie has a lot of ground to make up—and I am trying not to get too invested in this recruitment —but it’s really going to HURT for a long time if Romeo doesn’t pick IU. He and IU are a perfect match. We give him the platform to show his talents and he leads us back to title contention. But most importantly— he’s an Indiana boy. We need to keep the best ones —especially all-time legends—home. He’s as close to a must-get as it gets! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Can’t wait to see Hartman back—gives the team a coach on the floor-a hustler-a rebounder- and another 3-point shooter. Hope we get him some minutes in each of the next two games—and then full tilt against Duke. We will have to throw everything at them—including the kitchen sink to stay close. Hartman would be a welcome weapon! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Hoosier Guy —I love your optimism. There was a time during the dark days of IU basketball in years past where I felt I had to post positive and optimistic things all the time to keep myself and others from cliff-diving! Then you came along and helped lighten the load. I love your outlook and opinions and am pleased that you have let me go into semi-retirement! I still pop in and post from time to time but I now know BTown is in good hands with your positivity. I think you might be my brother from another mother! And—I for one agree with you that we are going to give Duke everything they want and then some when they come into our house—The Hall! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I loved it! As someone who grew up in the Knight era —I appreciate a good T from time to time! My first thought was —Archie—don’t apologize for it —we’ve been waiting for years for a Coach to show some fire! And afterwards how did we play? Just sayin! I also have to get used to the fact we are going to win differently. No longer will we attempt to win by out-scoring the other team. We will win with defense! So—this year rarely will we score in the high 80’s ,90’s or 100’s. Instead, we will have to hold the opponent down. Our scoring will increase in the future as we bring in better talent. But —I love that we will hang our hat on defense. Defensive teams—are usually the ones to advance deep in the tourney and improve —even on offense—as the year progresses! Optimism and hope abounds. This may be a tough year in wins and losses but we are laying the groundwork for future championships! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I’ve been tough on Juwan this year for disappearing in games—but he spurted tonight to a double-double and 4 blocks. That is what we have been missing. Deron has been consistent. Smith is coming and will take more minutes from Freddie as he improves—and we have yet to see what a healthy Hartman brings to the front court—heck I remember the year he played a lot at center and shockingly held his own in the Big Ten. Our front court could end up better than people are predicting—even though we will almost always be under-sized. It is good to be excited about IU BBall again! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Signs of life! Definite improvement from our Hoosiers! The D—especially in the 2nd half was special. And—we ran some nice offensive sets. When was the last time we had 3 screens on one set play? And—Juwan is back! And - RoJo found his shot! Coach said our older guys have been struggling to learn the new system as their muscle memory was the old Offense/Defense. I think they are figuring it out. And—although he makes frosh mistakes , I can see why Coach is so high on Al. We are better with him on the floor. Good stuff! Our Hoosiers are indeed growing up!
