He wasn't on my list and frankly I think it says more about the program than it does about Scott being a good AD. He's 63, has never coached a dramatically different game of college basketball nor has he recruited. He also was an NBA head coach when basketball was simply different. He hasn't been a head coach in seven years! I'm curious to see if kids will be lining up to play for an older NBA assistant coach. Maybe! 2. I don't know yet Unless Scott announces in the presser this morning what exactly Thad we'll do, we may simply never know. Using common sense I imagine he's basically an advisor. Advisor to recruiting, back channeling, program direction and overall X's and O's consultant. I just hope he's bought in and earns his pay-check. He hasn't coached or recruited in four years so the combination may seem sexy on paper but.. we'll see.

I woke up wondering how Scott Drew turned down Indiana. Mussleman.. etc. Was this really the second and only option? We'll never know of course. Looking forward to the presser. I'd like to see some questions about style of play. He hasn't been a head coach in years so I'm curious to see what he wants. Also, Thad in the admin role is going to be interesting. Basically an advisor to recruiting, the program, etc. I hope he's earning his paycheck and not just collecting health insurance from the University. ONWARD!

Good discussions today boys and girls! Looking forward to the presser tomorrow. Scott will sale Woodson. Woodson will win the conference although I wish it was in person and not Zoom, won’t be the same energy sadly. I hope the reporters ask him questions regarding style of play on both sides. That’s what we need to know. He’s not going to tell us his staff of course.

I’ll be more sold if we get Lewis, a big time recruiter who bends the rules ;), and another recruiter. If we can get AJ Moye / Guyton in support roles then I’ll lead the Woodson Wagon.

I’ve stated my reason many times, but I know it gets lost in the many threads. I wanted to keep him one more year so we get a hopeful homerun hire. We don’t know how Woodson will turn out. The no recruiting or no head coaching experience in college and in seven total years concerns me. Especially taking two years off from basketball the past two years. We’ll see.

Come on, the Indiana ties was the main factor. You can’t tell me he’s a candidate without playing here. We can find NBA assistant coaches with similar if not better resumes if we wanted to go that route.

I hope we don’t settle for Big Ten Chanpionships. Is he going to the final four and a championship game? That’s where Indiana is suppose to be.

We hired a mid major coach who was on my Top 5. I wasn’t happy. Now we’re hiring a guy who wouldn’t be hired without an IU degree. I’ll warm up to him but I’m not buying too much stock in this. I think there’s a decent chance we’re searching for a new coach again in 4 years. We’ll see!

I guess we’ll see come the season. Maybe he’s on the bench? He’ll be back recruiting behind the scenes of course. wonder if he travels.

Scott is risking his career and the future of Indiana Basketball. I like the confidence. We’ll see where the program is in three years - four years.

I drove by as the players were walking out. Everyone looked defeated, frustrated, shaking their heads. I think I saw Rob throw a water bottle at Scott Dolson. Then I woke up.
