The good thing about Woodson is that he speaks his mind, something no coach has recently here has done. We’ll see how the players and recruits like that in the future!

Another year of Archie could’ve led us to a better coach this April. We’ll never know!

Yeah it’s a shame because we’re quite easy to scout at this point. We have an all American and some talented Big East level players. Pack the paint, zone up when TJD gets the ball near the paint. -
Woodson hasn’t been a head coach since 2013, damn near 10 years ago. He also has never coached this poor of skilled players before. Highly agree he would’ve never been hired if he didn’t play here. Maybe he turns it around, but our next man up is Dane Fife! This offense is very bad and once we lose TJD next year this team is going to be… ugh.

That line up couldn’t shoot a tennis ball inside the ocean. We have two shooters as it is and it’s really limiting the potential for this team. -

Said this from the first game I saw. He’s a one trick pony that can’t guard a loaf of bread at Dollar General. Big Ten is going to expose him sadly. -

Woodson hire was to bring the fans and support back. -

Like I said from the summer, we can never trust a Pittsburg transfer. I hope Brad Stevens is missing coaching… -

Finally got to experience Assembly Hall and the Hoosiers again since 2019! one thing that I LOVED! Was when Woodson was walking out to the court, the camera and Jumbotron had the live video of him walking out. I’ve never seen that before with another IU coach. When Woodson walked out he got a major standing ovation. Very cool, made me buy into Woody even more. As for the play, I thought it was a little lackluster. We did okay vs the Zone, TJD was TJD. I’m still worried about Parker and Kopp during big ten play. The boys deserve the Christmas break they are on now. Lots of room for improvement but we at least look better than last year. I have us at 20 wins. I’m starting to think it’s 18-21 area. -

That is indeed true. He's a liability on defense and will be targeted endlessly in the B1G. Kopp at least has height, but is a role player as well. -

We'll make Rutgers look like a top five program when we play them on the road this season. That's a guarantee. -

I know we're playing a weaker program, but there should always be two starters on the floor at all times if the game is close. That hurt us vs Wisconsin. It won't hurt us tonight.. hopefully. -

This kid really is an Assembly Hall player. Chris has forever has this stuck in my head now. LOL -
Sounds fair from Woodson's part. I like that he's hard nose'd in a way, at least from my outside IU basketball perspective. But I'm hoping him being "old school" doesn't hurt us on the court. He's still learning college basketball, which of course is different than the NBA so I'm trying to be fair for him. Just disappointing to blow a 22 point lead when our team is much better than last years.
-
Yeah I didn't see him last night next to Scott so I thought that was interesting. Good note on him though, didn't know he wanted to be an AD!

Watched the second half again. Just basic thoughts. - Wisconsin didn't face guard or do anything drastic to change our looks. - The amount of second chances ops Wisconsin had through offensive rebounding was killer. Our effort was very poor. - We returned to the Archie Miller offense! The amount of standing around we did while hoping Johnson or TJD made a play was BAD. - Phinisee is BAD. It's amazing what happened to his "regression/progression" over the years. Our best hope is throwing Kristian in there and allowing him to learn through mistakes similar to last year. - I dont think Trey helps in this game and Leal didn't exactly do anything, still don't think he's a Big Ten player. Chris might be right, he's an assembly hall player. - Coaching staff was quite disappointing last night. We have THREE veteran Big Ten Coaches on staff. Thad, Dane, and Hunter. While Thad can't coach, our assistants I'm sure are still learning to work with an NBA coach in Woodson. Woodson is coaching the "worst" players he's had in his career more than likely, I'm sure it's an adjustment to say the least but last night was not acceptable. Leaving our starters out that long during the second and letting Johnson act like Russell Westbrook on the court was not ideal. Woodson has to be better. Did anyone see him loose his cool? I didn't. I was expecting to see him get into some faces. Still have us at 20-11. After last night, it's hard to see it but.. I'll try to stay positive.

I have 15% of the blame going to Johnson alone. 60% to coaching staff. Remaining goes to players, the climate in Madison, the Madison curse.

I mean if people can change political sides then people can change favorite teams right? LOL * not trying to bring politics into this but anything is truly possible. I agree though, I personally would never be an Purdue fan. But we also must remember a lot of IU fans are just casual fans. They’re not nerds like us!
-
If you read my reasoning’s then I explain why it would’ve been potentially* better in the long run. We’ll find out when Woodson fails or succeeds here at IU.

I think my NBA perspective of keeping bad coaches / players around usually tends to lead to better things — High draft picks, trade assets, more coaches interested. I always look at bigger picture. Archie wasn’t the answer this year but Mike Woodson not being the right answer could put this program in the grave. I personally would’ve taken my chances with Dane.
-
Yeah Archie didn’t have anything going for him and we may never know why everything became stale. But if we strike out on Woodson, who is an IU alum of course, this fan base might catch a bus to West LaLa and support the #1 team in America.
-
Just very disappointing the coaching staff didn’t get Kopp or Parker involved in the second half. Like we just shot incredible in the first half and we don’t get any looks until we’re down 3 with a minute to go and we get a stagger play for Parker? Maybe Woodson wanted them to figure it out and be hard headed but it just baffles me we didn’t get our shooters looks. Wisconsin didn’t take away our shooters in the second half.
