  1. It depends. If you don’t care then do whatever you want. But smart business people know that you never know who you might encounter down the line so it’s best not to burn bridges. For example if the Boston Celtics fire Brad Stevens and wants a different NBA job, you might/might not burn a bridge with Mark Cuban. You don’t take chances. As far as the radio show, there’s a difference in setting. Shock jocks trying to push you around is a different setting as opposed to the official media session of the Boston Celtics. Little details, yes, but it’s the little details that separate good business people from great business people.
  2. I’m a bagel guy. Boston ^%^%&
  3. I guess if you want the example of how to politely turn down interest from another school look how Alabama’s coach turned down interest in the IU job. Simple, direct, and didn’t brush people the wrong way.
  4. I don’t know what to tell ya. As a lawyer/business man in NC I was trained that there are specific definitive words you use to quash an argument. His wife knows this as well, and he didn’t use them until the second press conference (in a salty fashion).
  5. Then those fans are idiots because then they let their emotions to an unexpected dream. The first presser he left the door open. The second presser who closed that door but kind of a salty way. That said until we sign someone else, I think this saga is not necessarily over.
  6. He knows how passionate the state of Indiana is with basketball. There are many better ways to shut down IU’s interest. Cough Cough example. “ Guys I love basketball in the State of Indiana but I’m not interested in the job because I have unfinished business here with the Celtics” ——— if he would have said this from the get go, everyone would have said , yeah let’s move on. I don’t hate the guy but if he didn’t want the job they’re are way more effective ways to communicate. I tell my employees all the time make sure you win the right way because we don’t want to create enemies if we don’t have to.
  7. So is it ok for me to be petty? Being a New Yorker I know the grief he’ll get if he doesn’t turn it around. I’m like gooooooooood
  8. It doesn’t hurt to try
  9. I just don’t get why he said no. The Celtics fans are pissed and unless you draft a phenomenal player, he’s practically a sitting duck. Am I wrong here or am I being a homer?
  10. I hope they were always side by side.
  11. I also feel bad for our AD because he’s in real trouble if he mislead the donors. Again I work with billionaire’s , 10 million isn’t much to them but they absolutely hate being mislead. Like will do everything possible to make you miserable, to the point where they spend more than 10 million to make life tough.
  12. You know at this point and where the state of Indiana is it wouldn’t hurt to have him here to bring us at least some good years.
  13. Let’s hope we can be mostly unified for this pick as well.
  14. Man Celtics twitter is a brutal place
  15. I lost credibility with all my sports friends. Valuable lessons learned today.
  16. @Chris007know from a long lasting member of this board that it’s ok . The regulars know u discussed everything in good faith.
  17. In New York there was a reporter who followed the Jets GM till he answered his questions. Even texting him that he saw gm playing with his kids. This is the reason I think if Brad would try to lie to the Boston media. Again grasping but it wouldn’t shock me.
  18. If there is a glimmer of hope here is that if Brad was indeed interested he would not show his hand to the Boston media. Along with NY they are a brutal bunch.
  19. Strange how my IU life and dating life mimic each other.
  20. I’m getting the impression that a lot babies are going to be named Brad in 9 months.
  21. I have to go into a Zoom meeting at 4:15 so can someone ask someone to come out with it already?
