  1. He's going to be good. But if he is a major contributor this year, I think it says more about how bad the team will be than how good OG is. Like Old Friend said, there are about 8 people ahead of him.    Let him get his feet wet this year and then we can see how much we hype him up
  2. Doesn't exactly fit here but...    https://twitter.com/dandakich/status/622228353924378624   Sick burn by Dakich on Albers, ha
  3. I don't have any expectations for a program that flat out sucks. We were a dumpster fire before he got here and we are still bad. A bad program that is also a revolving door for coaches will seriously always be a door mat. If we get stability in the program and a good core of players and show potential, then at the least we become a serviceable option for decent coaches to use us as a stepping stone. Unrelated, I think Wilson will get it done and I think we get 5-7 wins depending how the season breaks. That is acceptable to me for IU football
  4. Maybe my interaction with Wilson has left me a bit bias, but honestly we will not attract a coach from a similar background if we were to fire Wilson. Nobody is going to be willing to go to a dumpster fire of a program if they are also quick to let you go. And I would argue that yes, five years would be quick. Wilson is recruiting well and we caught a tough break last year injury wise. I think it would be better for us to ride out Wilson's contract and trust he will get it right than bounce from coach to coach hoping we can catch lightning in a bottle
  5. Rome wasn't built in a day
  6. Thanks for the correction. Thought I read somewhere it was roommates. Let's hope for no more of this type of news this offseason
  7. I'm concerned that it said Allen's roommates were present for one of the drug deals. I'm assuming he lives with football players. Also, unpopular opinion time: while I wholeheartedly agree this is an awful look for the program and should be avoided at all costs, I'm fine taking on a couple of risky personalities who can elevate the team to the next level.
  8. Not to make this blown out of proportion, and I definitely still think we have the inside track here, but it kinda feels like the staff botched not being the first to offer here
  9. ""(Indiana) had all the players there," Linda said. "Thomas said they were texting or calling him. I asked if it that was legal, and someone told me, 'Yeah, it's legal," so that's OK. Your kid wants to know you'll be there, to be that go-getter and know that you're in their corner. He wanted to play with players that would fight."   Lets hope he's right about the bolded
  10. There is no chance Morgan or OG start as freshmen at PF. Much more likely Hanner/Hartman/Holt IMO
  11. I realize this is a pretty bold statement, but I'm ready to move on from the Hanner Parea experiment. I think he can absolutely play and contribute, but I feel as if we were better off with Holt on the floor this year anyway. If Holt were just an inch taller, nobody would have a problem calling him a legit 4 at 6'8. I'm hoping he grows one inch this offseason.    I anticipate Bryant will already be equal to or better than Hanner in terms of production.    Thats why I would like:    Yogi JBJ Troy Holt Bryant   With Hanner in to spell Holt/Bryant as needed...    Also, I realize this won't happen, but I honestly feel RoJo deserves more PT than Blackmon
  12. That roster should do serious damage. Its hard to believe there could be so much talent on one squad... I'm sure the bench would look different, I was just listing names off the top of my head haha
  13. Imagine this:    1) Yogi  2) JBJ 3) Troy 4) Thon 5) Bryant   6) RoJo 7) Hartman 8) Hanner 9) Z 10) Holt 11) OG 12) Morgan   Lethal.
  14. Thats what I want. I also think thats what would make us best. But, since we all know Crean loves stretching the floor, I anticipate he likes Troy/Colin at the four over Holt/Davis/Hanner
  15. I would LIKE to see a starting 5 of:    1) Yogi 2) JB2 3) Troy 4) Holt 5) Bryant   I PREDICT we will see:    1) Yogi 2) JB2 3) Rojo 4) Troy 5) Bryant   ... Honestly won't be shocked if Hanner starts over Bryant though...

  17. Stevens would. The IU administration would. IU doesn't want to look like an institution that doesn't stand by its coaches and Stevens doesn't want to be "that guy" for lack of a better term in coaching circles
  18. Apparently Bobby Hurley is a front runner for the Depaul job. For his own interest, I hope he doesn't take it...
  19. Really just starting to doubt Crean isn't back next year. Betting he will be and then after next season we make a move. But thats based on nothing other than my own pessimism
  20. I think it's a smart move by the PSU AD. Gives chambers the ability to combat opposing coaches saying he may get fired, while not tying the program to him if he fails.
  21. Because no good team has an off or sluggish day
  22. Slightly off topic, but this Notre Dame team is playing some good defense this year. I really think they have a run in them. Having followed the ND program for a bit and them being a football school, people either didn't care or thought Brey should be fired. But I feel like this season in particular speaks to the fact that coaches can change and improve, even after 15 years at the same school. He's changed a lot over the years and recruited a lot better recently. I also think he's adopting a strategy that's almost the opposite of Kentucky's where they are solid every year but every four years or so with the right upperclassmen can go on a deep run. And he graduates his players. Personally I'm rooting for ND to start a trend of going on deeper runs in the tourney. They do things the right way
  23. Should've clarified, I meant the rumor that IU gave Bama permission to talk to Crean
  24. For what its worth, AJ didn't tweet that he had heard this rumor. Just a random fan, and AJ said, "wow"
  25. Per twitter Cliff Alexander is done for the year, no NCAA tourney for him
