  1. This may be my jersey bias, but id really like one of the Hurley brothers to take over. Particularly Danny Hurley at Rhode Island right now. Former star of major program at duke, his dad's a legendary hs coach and disciplinarian. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  2. Honestly it's not even about if we make the tournament (which we won't). We need to make the change regardless Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  3. Does Nile have a shot at playing right away?
  4. A knowledgeable ND poster said he believes Niles is going to end up at IU and that he will likely not lose any eligibility for transferring as it is seemingly an admissions oversight causing him to have to leave ND.
  5. Nice to have quarterback depth
  6. A Notre Dame board poster said this:     He's recently followed IU's defensive coordinator and head coach on Twitter, as well as Mizzou's graduate assistant defensive coach. All are probably on the hunt already. If we could get him, would be awesome!

  10. Cool. Great teams are built from the trenches! Thanks for the updates cc
  11. How many seasons of eligibility will he have when hes on campus?
  12. 6'6 310? Interest from Ohio State and Oregon?    Sign him up.
  13. Tom Crean's record at IU   2008-2009: 6-25 - understandable with the mess the team was 2009-2010: 10-21 - OK Rome wasn't built in a day  2010-2011: 12-20 - team is getting better, between sanctions and what he had to work with can't really complain 2011-2012: 27-9 - WOW! Is Indiana is back? Definitely starting to look like it! 2012-2013: 29-7 - Cool. Underwhelming, but not half bad.  2013-2013: 17-15 -  :o WTF? Season should've gone a lot differently.   Consider this against his body of work at Marquette (190-96) One Final Four appearance with Dwayne Wade and otherwise never better than Second Round.    So you see, considering Wade's year at Marquette as an outlier, IU hired a guy who had not a lot of success and who's program was trending flat. At Marquette, Crean started OK, Good, similar to our WTF season this year for three years, then two marginally better years.    This makes me feel not very confident in his ability to take us beyond a Sweet 16, maybe an Elite 8. However, I will say after looking it over he is undoubtedly deserving of next year and MAYBE the year after that.
  14. Yea, I could see that. He did get this program out from the utter terrible state it was in. IU can't become a revolving door for coaches.    Ultimately I agree and think next year he will flop and IU will be looking for a new MBB coach. Lets hope it works out!
  15. I just can't be optimistic about next year based on the little I know thus far. No bigs, doesn't seem like a lot of depth... I don't see next year being any better than this past one
  16. I wouldn't fire Crean at this point until I felt sure there was a coach I considered to be an upgrade to be "waiting in the wings" so to speak. You could easily downgrade from Crean and take the program even more south. Its crucial that the next hire is the right one.
  17. Thanks for making this thread, you beat me to it..    I'll copy what I said in another thread below:     The way I see it, Crean got Indiana out of the basement of college basketball. But is he capable of taking the team to the next level? His body of work says no. He is a program builder, at this point not an NCAA championship coach. How can you miss out on a field of SIXTY EIGHT teams... as Indiana? And a field of 32 in the NIT... thats asinine. If the boosters can pony up the cash to get him out, fine by me...   Thanks to Crean for fixing a mess and getting the program to a stage that it can be operable. I recognize his efforts but I also recognize his limits. His limit has been reached in Bloomington, its time to go get a stud coach.
  18. What an adorable baby! Part of the reason I'm so excited about going to Indiana is the chance to be a part of such a passionate fan base. I love the culture of IU fans that is passed on from birth. Thanks for being an awesome Hoosier!
