I think they go back for another year with the dealers. The article said they will pay a lower rate for current college players and for free agents. So it's not just a team that you have one shot at. They can make $1 million plus over 2 seasons. If they don't make it to the league, they can go to college as a millionaire already. If they want to continue to play Europe and Asia would be options.

Is the small print of the contracts I expect that each kid is signing on to a sports agency for X amount of years. When the kids sign their NBA contracts, a % goes back to this guy fronting the money. this could also be the test run for a NBA team in Vegas. Or it could be the start of a true minor league basketball system. I love it and hope it works. College basketball for kids who want a education. Sounds great!!

He can sign regardless of the scholarship situation. We can sign 3,000 players but have to be at 13 by the fall. He technically doesn't have to sign a LOI with any school. I know I wouldn't if I were a athlete. Protect yourself from a coaching change or roster changes you don't like. Just enroll in the summer and get your scholarship.
-
They had self imposed 1 scholarship reduction for this season and that figures into the first year of the penalty. So they only have to be at 11 for the first year, then at 10 the following year. They definitely have room for Bryant
-
Watching Bryant for the first time. I can't say I see anything that makes me believe he is a one and done. I get that it's an all star game, I just think he is a multi year player.
-
After watching that, I feel like if UK jumps back in and make a push for him, he will go to Lexington.
-
Hanner Parea is 6'9" with a 7'2"+ wingspan. The defense goes beyond getting more height.
-
You realize it wasn't lack of post presence that killed our defense. It was our lack of being able to stop dribble penetration at the wings. Remember to wasn't the same team minus Vonleh. We also had JBJR and Johnson as new starters. Adding a big doesn't fix our defense as simply as you are stating. There must be improvement on the wings first and foremost. Look at other teams of our size (MSU) and their ability to play defense.

Lol. This made my laugh. Well played.
-
I'm not disagreeing. I want a change. I was just stating if he stays for next year he must have us poised to be good the following year as well. Sustained success is my biggest gripe.
-
It goes beyond having a good year next year. He would need to be able to sustain it. He built it once and couldn't. He is on the cusp to having it built again. He can't have another drop off like we did the past 2 seasons. If we land Bryant he will be a Big Ten title contender for sure.

Dan Hurley?

Actually Kravitz asked specifically about Alabama, he didn't say anything about staying at IU.
-
I wouldn't say Crean being back is 100% at this point. The reason there isn't been any announcement isn't bc he is definitely staying. Crean was rumored to leave Marquette and had a press conference to squash the rumors. He isn't doing that this time. The rumor I've heard is he is waiting to see if a job of his interest opens up, if not he will be back. Until he knows for sure he will be doing, it's status quo. He continues to recruit.
-
Again not anyone in the athletic department saying he will be back.
-
I don't think Tenn is getting hit by anything. They fired their coach bc of what he did at southern miss and was only at Tenn for a year. I think a school like that would be great for Crean. Football school, and for basketball they want to play an up and down style. Plus they can pay well.
-
Ill be a moron, if it means getting Stevens, Donovan, Marshall, or Miller.
-
Have you seen a difference in the offense at all over the past 6/7 years? We still weave, we still try to drive and kick it, if that doesn't work we repeat it. The effectiveness of it is completely dependent upon roster composition. I think I literally saw 2 picks set off the ball to get a shooter free this season. Didn't happen last year and it wasn't happening when Hulls was here and needed the help to get open looks. Defensively........ugh.
-
Not necessarily. If our coach is still coaching we will have to wait. If Crean is staying I'm sure something come out soon.
-
There have been a lot of empty seats since the iowa game of last year. But yeah go ahead and call me pathetic. I support a program, not an individual team. I'm not happy with the way the program is run/handled. Why would I waste money on that? It would be like going and seeing a movie, not liking the movie, then going and seeing it 6-7 more times in a 5 month span. Then doing it again the next year, the year after that, etc. That would be just stupid.
-
I've already stopped going to games. I refuse to go back until Crean is gone or he can prove to have sustained success, which won't happen.
-
That's probably how a lot of us feel. I hope the guy tweeting out there will be an announcement Monday is correct.
-
Depends. If it's someone not in the tournament then yes. If they are still playing next weekend, then I doubt it. Unless Crean is legitimately got another job lined up and is ready to go. Or worst case, he is staying.

#IHSAA Boys/Girls State Tournament
Feathery replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Vincennes came out very nervous. Looked like their 2 starting senior guards were up for it. The rest looked like they were afraid to make a mistake. I felt bad for them. Guerin played well and played like they had nothing to lose. -
Yep. It coincided with his change in demeanor/emotions and the Glass vote of confidence. Glass also came up with the $10 million mark for the buyout, which is a new number that's not in his contract. I thought for awhile it was over and started paying more attention to who the next coach could be.
