  1. By all means, kick the hell out of Fordham over 10k. That’ll scare everybody. Meanwhile, Rob Wright leaving Baylor after he said he wasn’t and committing 3 days later to BYU for 3.5 mil is just the new reality, huh? I swear to God.
  2. Interesting, Givens and Robert Miller put out a video together at the end of the year hyping that they were running it back. Now apparently they're both leaving, though I don't think Miller has announced officially.
  3. Sun Belt kind of thing would probably make sense. For all the stuff Pope got right he misused that kid. He's not a PG. He's an undersized not very athletic shooter who needs help to get clean. If you're gonna play him as a distributor and have him defend on the ball a lot I'm not sure why you're recruiting him. He's not a less good Braden Smith, he's a less good Steve Alford.
  4. The Serbian PG that Illinois just took is already 22 and super successful in the Adriatic League which is a top 7 or 8 league in the world. That just feels gross.
  5. A few hundred K less as Travis Perry enters the portal. Kid needs to find a system that runs him off screens and creates looks for him. May need to level down.
  6. St John’s SF and former IU HS pseudo-target Brady Dunlap commits to Josh Shertz/St Louis. That is a very nice fit.
  7. From what I vaguely recall of him at FSU, didn’t watch FAU last year that I remember., he had loud tools across the board and he competed hard, but he had 2 things holding him back: 1) he’s both thin and high cut and he really struggled with physicality. He didn’t really shy from contact, he just had strength and leverage problems that hindered him as a rebounder and he tended to float to the perimeter on offense,. Based on his frame I think that’s something you’re just living with. 2) he didn’t appear to be.a very instinctive kid. There was a lot of “see it, process it, do it” in his game that really mitigated his defensive presence, which should be massive. But when you have flashes like that and you play hard I imagine someone will pay him pretty good and he’ll help.
  8. Bringing in a niche piece who would be a plug and play guy year 2, probably the same path as Sisley, would be a fantastic get.
  9. Fland is absolutely going in the 1st round. The real question is whether it’s worth it to kids like him to bump their 2nd contract out another year.
  10. For a high profile enough kid, would think the crossover point may even hit as early as the late-teens. I think Kel’el Ware is making something like 4mil this year as the 15th pick and Rob Wright is supposedly getting 3.5 mil from BYU.
  11. Have no opinion of Drake as a player yet, but I am really happy for the kid. Straight washes out at Cleveland St but then just takes a step back, finds a path, busts his a$$ and now he’s in the B1G. If there is 1 thing with CDD so far, none of these kids is bringing a sense of entitlement with them. Gonna be a really, really easy team to root for.
  12. Minny’s Dawson Garcia in the portal. He’s already played 5 years of college, but what the hell, right?
  13. Been paying some attention to that one too for the same reasons you have. I have no idea what the scoop is there, but given how few high majors have been attached to him, and none of them are the local schools, I imagine it’s 1 of 2 things: 1) sky high financial expectations or, 2) something not strictly on-court related that’s not passing muster with some people. Can’t really see a kid with 3 years of eligibility not more in play unless something’s making people say woah.
  14. As pathetic as that folding chair is, somebody had a visit picture sitting on a literal throne. I think it was last cycle. Can’t remember who or which school, but someone did.
  15. Had a Cig/JMU offer out of HS.
  16. Ga Tech PF Duncan Powell reopens his recruitment after committing to Georgetown a couple of weeks ago. Averaged 12 and 6 on 44/36/69 splits. No idea if this has anything to do with Kenny Johnson but may be worth at least keeping in the back of the mind.
  17. Yup. Limited minutes for a coach who notoriously doesn’t like playing freshman and then got hurt. If you like his talent it’s a chance to steal a kid. Ok by me.
  18. Even though IU was mentioned in his new list of finalists a couple of weeks back, the fact that they’re in hard on Freeman, who’s a really similar player, but not from all indications in on Hawthorne at all would seem to be the tip-off. Now watch him announce an IU visit in an hour or so.
  19. Curtis almost makes too much sense to not happen. Baker-Mazara absolutely needs to not happen.
  20. Azavier Robinson. Lawrence North kid and Butler commit who may be decommitting.
  21. That gets the spidey senses going a little bit.
  22. Would think that would be a very expensive pull, but certainly worth exploring.
