My take on the interview was Brad tried to be nice the first time and us fans didn’t want to believe him . Rumors got so out of control that he had to call a team meeting and tell us all in a second interview that he is still not interested. He wants us to know that he is not some God. He makes plenty of mistakes every day, he even roots for the Patriots. He is a grown @$$ man not an innocent child who will be told what he wants. Billy wasn’t coming and Neither was Brad. Once we get down to possible prospects after Few, Wright , and so on say no, or aren’t asked, I get hung up with Drew and Beard. I don’t like slow, put you to sleep offenses , but I respect what Beard has done over his short tenure. I really like Drew’s offense and athletic guys he recruits. More my style, but I worry about his previous tournament resume and the shadiness stuff that has went on there if true. After that it’s probably Mussleman or Oats, also a hard decision for me. I’m fine with saying we have the money raised and Brad just turned us down. Thats a big difference then saying we have the money to ask him and we asked him and he said yes. The other stuff that alway gets added after a done deal is mentioned and then it doesn’t work out, is the hardest stuff to comprehend. Billy Donovan was in Bloomington, he’s our next coach. Now He has changed his mind cause of this or that reason. Brad Stevens got a raise because we offered him a certain amount ,which means he was coming home but changed his mine, when he was offered more money by the Celtics . The recruiting misses sting when we are told by insiders they are coming ,especially Kaufman of late, but it’s not as big of a deal because we can get go out and get another good recruit. There is only one Brad Stevens. We can turn on him because it makes us feel better that he never wanted to leave Boston. IMO it’s not his fault we wouldn’t listen to him when he was trying to tell us he was happy there.

Did Billy Donovan lie too when him and his wife flew in on a private jet to Bloomington? I know this isn’t my argument, but some things just don’t add up. The raise for Stevens makes zero sense. I was in the same boat Josh... When the words done deal are used, or we have our guy, it gives us the confidence to share info to our closest friends. We took a hit with credibility. I say Beard probably safest bet but not my favorite style of offense. I guess I would have to get used to it. I really like Chris007 seems like a standup guy and always has been. I think others that usually aren’t so accurate, piggybacked on his info to make them look like they really knew more than they did. The only thing that makes the raise thing so hard to believe is the timing. Can you imagine Boston fans after hearing confirmation that he got a raise with his current performance as a coach. Heck all you see is Boston fans wanting him fired. Not that insiders aren’t being told that, but man the reality of it is, Brad’s seat has been fairly warm. I don’t get it. If Brad truly got a raise from the Celtics, which will be made public for everyone to see, I have no problem with what the insiders were saying.
