Five Prime

Just finished replay. Phinisee was fantastic, especially on defense. Guard play in general was much better. We should keep winning games if they play at that level. Galloway has been a huge spark and should continue to see a lot of minutes. The refs kind of sucked honestly, especially for a home game. Minny had like 1 foul in each half at the under 8 timeout. Have to find a way to play like this on the road and close out games for wins.

Just finished watching replay. 1) TJD brings that energy and level of play consistently and this team would be undefeated right now. I realize it is harder to do on the road but we need him to figure it out. Incredible performance. 2) Galloway was the difference between a close win or loss and a blowout win. He is absolutely needed on this team. 3) defense is top in the Big 10 4) we beat a top 15 team while shooting 13% from 3 5) our PGs were serviceable, which is about as good as we can hope for this season. 6) Stewart needs to keep his head up and have a short memory. We are going to need his shooting on the road in the Big 10. 7) great bounce back by Woody and the staff. They need to push the buttons to get this energy out of these guys every game.

What is competent guard play Alec?

I long for the day of IU basketball when there is much more to be excited about than seeing rivals lose.

To elaborate, he plays with a lot of negative emotion. You can see it in his body language, he gets frustrated and angry easily. This isn't always a bad trait for an athlete, if focused correctly it can be very useful for like a defensive lineman in football. But to have your starting PG easily frustrated and quick to anger is not great. Other teams know this and use it to their advantage.

Also Xavier Johnson seems to be a bit of a head case. Smart teams/players are going to be able to take him off his game just like Wisconsin did last night.

It's not that hard. Programs get turned around all the time. We have an all American on our team that didn't get the ball down the stretch because our PG play was just that bad. Get your best players the ball, it's not that hard. Wisconsin won because they understood that simple concept.

Say what you want about Lander but he would have been better than what we got from X in the second half last night. There has to be something else going on behind the scenes because he's not that bad at basketball.

We have a first team all American on the floor but no intention to get him the ball.

Lander must not be very good at basketball because our pg play is awful and he still can't get on the court.

Losing a game in this nature can have implications on a team's confidence. This one wasn't good even if the result was expected.

A loss like this will be hard to recover from. Really disappointed. The trajectory of the season may have just changed.

Syracuse and St John's are borderline tourney teams and they each could have gone either way. I hope we are more than a fringe tourney team. Time will tell.

This and the foul at the end of double OT is why I said Lander cost us the game.

Also Syracuse actually sucks so this is unfortunate. Probably a .500 team this year

The real question is why in the hell is Michigan still ranked?
