I love AC but holy cow. Just watched the first 15 minutes of the post game and had to turn it off. Jerod smiling like we just won the B1G while proudly professing “the win gives a sole possession of 8th place!” Was nauseating. Thats the state of the program. Excited for sole possession of 8th place. It’s amazing it took this many data points for my dumba** to realize we are not the program we as the consumer see it.

I get what you’re saying but that also discounts the fundamental differences in the positions. The head coach of Indiana Basketball has zero inherent deterrents to success. Every opportunity to succeed both monetarily and talent wise. You almost have to try to not succeed at a place like IU (read: lazy recruiting, archaic scheme, etc). The football program has none of the built in advantages of BBall. We have never gotten a 5 star recruit in football. Not one, zero. We routinely get 1-3 4 star recruits at most every recruiting cycle. And there are 80ish kids on scholarship. So yes I will agree he has the basketball program better off, but that only shows a small part of the picture.

We have 6 seasons since 1990 with 25+ wins. Remove Crean and we have 3. 3. Kansas? 12 since 2010. UNC? 8 since 2010. Duke? 12 since 2010. Kentucky? 8 since 2010. My point here is we aren’t a blue blood, and I am done thinking we are. If the administration wants to treat IU basketball like a run of the mill program, so be it. That’s the fandom they can have. It would probably be better for my blood pressure anyways.

Or we could be navigating the weakest part of our schedule. Wisconsin is our only win against a tournament team. And they’ve managed to drop from a projected 4 seed to an 8 since January.

A losing record in what might be the worst B1G in my lifetime. Purdue has a legit shot at a FF or NC and we have more Woody. We are not serious.

I lurk a lot of other boards and the general consensus is joy amongst our rivals. Purdue people are doing cartwheels since they will own recruiting in Indiana for the next 3-4 years because of it. Let that sink in.

At the end of a season already in the toilet. Your apparent acceptance of mediocrity is a microcosm of why we are what we are. Coming here to gloat over a team that’s a couple games over .500 by beating bad teams is laughable.

Woody owes KW his paycheck for next year. Without Ware we are under .500 right now.

If that’s true about Dolson, it pretty much confirms everything us plebes think about the program. If the important people are shocked at empty seats they truly don’t deserve the fan base. Sooner or later, even *gasp* Indiana fans are going to stop watching bad basketball. The hubris and entitlement around our program is absurd. We are not inevitable. Sell outs are not assured. Fam support can wane. The basketball program has been profiting off of RMK for 50 years. It will end, even if slowly and painfully. This is just another step in that direction.

I’m not trying to be too hyperbolic, but not taking your alumnus is how Ohio State ended up with RMK being our legendary coach. It would almost be serendipity if Dusty went there and proceeded to win huge and not leave. Oof, just made myself throw up in mouth a little.

I think what’s most infuriating is assuming there isn’t a handshake deal with Dusty (spoiler alert: there isn’t) we may have just passed up on Bruce F****** Pearl and will watch Dusty go somewhere else. All to watch a team full of new players lose basketball games. I wonder what the NIL looks like. Maybe QB and MW really think it’s like free agency.

It’s the only reason we still get national coverage and prime time games. Ever notice not all B1G teams play an early season game aired on BTN+ but we always have a couple? There’s a reason for that. The program doesn’t deserve the fan base. Any other team and a tweet about Woody getting another year would be literally not be published. Woody getting another year as tweeted was the lead on the BTN halftime show of MSU NW.

Maybe Tuesday is another raise and contract extension? I’m mostly kidding.

The fact that Osterman has to tweet something like that with 2 games left runs counter to that. It wasn’t just this board. Regardless, his seat is going to be nuclear from game 1. I feel bad for the players.

Thanks for the explanation. I certainly wouldn’t have wanted him treated that way, it seems deliberately cruel. That said, and I mentioned this like 200 pages ago before you joined lol— I cannot wrap my head around QB or anyone else who genuinely cares for Woody on a deeply personal level thinking it is a good idea. Thats the main confusion for me. Anyone with two eyeballs can see next year will almost certainly be a train wreck. They have not begun to see “toxic fan base” if we have a similar record, much less worse. Unless, of course, Woody knows this and really believes his own excuses, in which case, so be it.. I simply don’t understand it, but I am moron, so there’s that.

Gonna laugh when all the wide open offense we saw the last two games when the seat was “hot” disappears. Foul trouble aside I’m guessing we play two centers again for 25+ minutes. We are not a blue blood, we are not serious, mediocre is the new normal. Get excited every so often making the tournament. I’m disgusted.
