I would agree that IU themselves will not proactively try to fire Archie after this year given budgetary constraints. However, if a booster(s) want Archie fired after this year it WILL happen whether it cost 5mm, 10mm or 15mm?? These people will have the funds to pay for what they WANT. The question should be not will IU fire Archie, but what do the large donor boosters think about Archie???

Imagine how much better these numbers would have been if Hunter didn't commit those two dumb fouls on 3pt shots.. +/- would have been even better :)

Was Saban stupid for leaving a NFL job? It isn’t about Stevens or Donovan. It is about IU acting like it is the top 5 program we think/want them to be. Target a great coach (whoever they believe that to be) and DONT take no for an answer. Alabama didn’t when they wanted Saban.

Why do people keep saying we can’t get a highly successful coach?? Do you not believe IU to be a true blue blood program (top 5-7) in the country? If so, then you have “settled” on your expectations. Don’t expect to get a Ferrari for. Kia price. This program and this fan base need to WANT and BELIEVE we are the top program we say we are. I remember Alabama in Football pre-Saban. The fans were upset at the decade plus lack of results. They demanded change. The administration identified a current NFL coach as THEIR guy and they went all in to get him despite people thinking it may be unrealistic at the time. A decade plus and multiple titles later I would say this is well worth the investment. To use an example, IF IU BELIEVES Stevens or Donovan are THE answer you go GET them. You act like you are a top 5 program and write the check. If we as fans believe we are a Top 5 program, we DONATE to make sure they can.

Curious as to why you think that? I will honestly say I don’t know much about him, but the lack of major success from any other K disciples has me less than enthused about this guy. I still think Archie has proven to not be the guy so I view any change as good change.

Is it the posters job?? Should a competent AD have a list? How do we know who is realistic? If the AD and board view IU as a top 5 job then there should be plenty of realistic options who may/may not lead us back? Worth a shot given what we have seen from Archie. Altman, Beard, Drew???

We SHOULD be looking for the next legendary coach. And if “we” care about IU basketball like we say we do on these message boards we should do everything in our power to make sure the people in charge share that same vision.

Which means you should be “pushing” for change so IU is appointment TV again? If you/we aren’t ready to push for change we never are going to get that feeling back. No harm done in trying something different

This is the problem. Seems the administration and the fans have accepted mediocrity. If that is the case, CAM should be hired solely for finding a cheaper coach who can give us the same results.

What is your definition of a good player? Al shot 0% from the field, 50% from the line, had 1 rebound and had a costly TO at a crucial point in the game??? I expect more of a senior leader at the guard position. And I expect CAM to not play such a player 35mins a game.

I just do t get this mentality. The next hire may/may not be better. But what is the problem with trying to be better? It isn’t going to be worse??? Or if it is you fire them and try again

Actually Sampson was a Good coach and I think we would have been back by now IF he was a CLEAN coach. I wouldn’t lump him in with Davis, Crean or Miller

I want kids to give all they have as well. But if all they have are costly mistakes and no offense, then maybe the coach should try another option? Logical reason to change coaches is MAYBE it is better than what we have? Can’t be any worse than the indifference Crean/Archie have given us??

Why will he have 2 more seasons? If we disappoint this year we should just rip the bad aid off and start over? Administration just doesn’t have the vision to see we are going no where. Why wait another year??

Is that true? When I lived in Indiana these results would have not sat well with fans. Has the past 30yrs just brought us all to accept mediocrity???
