    I think we tend to overestimate freshman contributions as starters unless they are absolute studs like Romeo. Tamar was a highly rated recruit last year similar to JHS and didn't contribute much. I'm hoping Tamar takes that next step and is a starter this season. The other spot will go to Kopp I think.

    Staff can only spend so much time with each player. Handle is a skill that needs 95%+ personal development time. Regardless of the staff's priorities he hasn't personally prioritized it which is significant if he thinks of himself as a wing player.

    If he's been here for two years already and the handle still looks like that, I'd say it's not going to get much better. He will still be an effective role player off the bench.

    JG does not have the handle of Kopp, which is not a high bar. His handle last season was extremely shaky and I would be shocked to see him start on the wing any time soon until that's fixed.

    Haven't we tried enough bad shooters in this program? I mean, 35% FG last year. JFC. I don't care if he saved a school bus full of children we need players who can win games, not more bricklayers.

    Would be nice to be pleasantly surprised for once instead of sorely disappointed when we bring in a shooter.

    I could complain about specific points in the game, but to me this program is just mired in a culture of losing. We have as much or more talent than just about any college basketball program in the nation. We don't have a cultural identity that translates to winning right now. I hope that changes soon.

    I was shocked when I saw 4 weeks. Six weeks seems more reasonable after a surgery and that probably doesn't mean back in a game but back in the gym. Maybe we have a surgeon on the board who thinks differently.

    Anyone else think our offense was noticeably worse with Phin at PG? Seems like he's still in the Archieball mindset of dribbling the air out of the ball and limited movement. Hoping XJ limits his foul trouble this season.

    Also loving the police response of, "We didn't witness it so we can't make an arrest." A basketball player is involved and all of a sudden there's no such thing as a crime if police didn't witness it first hand? OK then.
