I would think coming in with a coach in his first year isn't the riskiest thing to do given that coaches usually get a few years before the hot seat no matter what. A bit riskier than being on a program that is rolling along but I'm sure he would be getting a raise to entice him to accept a little more risk.

- Being a good coach is the most important thing. Tutelage under 2 good coaches could be beneficial to that but doesn't necessarily mean it rubbed off. - Good success at the mid-major level is a plus - P5 experience but with mediocre results in a league not the same level as the Big Ten (not impressed on this bullet point) - Basketball only has a small number of players (compared to football). Overnight rebuild shouldn't be that hard in the NIL/portal era - Sure but I don't think that separates him from the competition - Hopefully said of most of the coaches we are talking about
