Apparently it was thought he was the successor to Matta before IU hired him. It would be no different then if in an alternate universe Brad Stevens had left Bulter to go to Illinois (instead of the NBA) and IU called him that same year. If IU didn't at least make the call, IU fans would have been up in arms. OSU probably felt they needed to at least ask before moving on to the next candidate. I don't blame tOSU. I would have been peeved at Archie if he left.

Tennessee is the home school, the school where his brother played and they are a more prestigious program. This is likely an uphill battle for IU at this point even if Tennessee gets a new staff.

Depends on how they use them. If they have both boards doing the same thing then not as much of an issue. Plus, i think the north end zone one is smaller. It's too bad they won't just put the pole outside the stadium. Given how tall it is, people could still see the flag.
