  1. If you need some hope, in the video @TeeterInNJ posted, he calls his dad his role model, and by all appearances family is very important to him. IU had the Nigerian flag, that of his dad’s home country, in his locker. IU’s vibe is much more familial than KU’s.
  2. It may well be KU but Osterman tweeting out the announcement time after KU folks said it in a discord ain’t proof
  3. If my team had won a title this decade I would simply chill with the recruiting obsession unless I thought we were beginning to slip.
  4. Believe he follows Elmarko Jackson on IG
  5. Oh I’ll be snide about some KU fan account playing fake insider on twitter! Saw the account claiming MM was a KU lock this afternoon, fighting with IU fans hoping. JUST NOW, hours later, he’s asking Trilly for Mgbako news.
  6. To me this is more indication that Kansas doesn’t really know yet, either.
  7. Am I crazy if I like his future better than Dickinson’s? Defense matters and Dickinson is not a + on that side, imo
  8. Just totally depends on the player, up to and including occasionally a staff learning via the public announcement, though that’s rare.
  9. BUT to my knowledge there’s no Devin Booker domino
  10. This is reminding me a little of the Blackmon re-recruitment.
  11. Landing on “everyone’s still guessing.” Not gonna sweat the CBs etc. until we get some indication otherwise. And I get why they’re guessing KU, though I think even without crimson-colored glasses, IU makes tons of sense.
  12. I mean listen, if anyone wants to read dubious tea leaves, he follows three guys on IG who’ll be on the ‘23-‘24 Hoosiers. Best I can tell, he only follows one corresponding Jayhawk.
  13. If the crystal ball/futurecast picks are the only smoke this morning, I wouldn’t worry to much just yet. He may well pick KU but unless it’s Slater, Mack himself, or a Trilly Donovan tip, I don’t know that it means much.
  14. Tinned fish are good. I don’t see any impact on the smell of my gas though.
  15. Think he screenshotted or quote-tweezed Adam Zagoria with rat and facepalm emojis when Zags broke the visits’ news (which was seemingly known but embargoed, and thus lots of confirmation stories ran from all sorts of places after) broke.
  16. Wow. I like Kim English, and not long ago I might’ve been a skeptic that anyone could really outperform Cooley at PC, despite my philosophical differences with Cooley on play style. But I’m starting to wonder if English can level them up.
  17. No idea but they’d almost have to be better from a dead cat bounce
  18. Thank you, lotta folks have been saying “insider” and really meant “anon poster (not Chris) or twitter account (not Trilly)” and I don’t really give those much credence without the track records if a Chris or a Trilly. Bossi saying this is a different ball game.
  19. I think he’s got the athleticism to be a fine team defender, at least. That was my one concern here.
  20. Like a journalist? Or an anonymous poster?
  21. I’m thinking about what the original commitment to Duke might mean. Prestige and exposure, winning, PT. Surely NIL $. The assumption is the PT shriveled up and thus the decommitment. UL and SJU are a distant third and fourth on winning this coming year, you’d expect. SJU is not on the same prestige level. The weights of these things are unknown to us, but I’m sensitive to the idea that IU has a much clearer path to PT, playing through mistakes, almost no chance of getting completely buried on the bench vs. KU. Where might KU have advantages? Well, maybe prestige if you’re discounting older titles and success, though of course on a flat historical analysis IU has more titles. The other alternative to me seems to be more consistent recent winning. But both were round of 32 exits this year.
  22. Almost wishing away the weekend just so o can read Chris’s Monday morning posts
  23. Verrrrrry high likelihood he’s 1-and-done. Like ~75% or so I’d guess. Players rated top 8-12 in their class, like Mgbako, almost always stay only one year. Kel’el Ware is the exception, not the rule.
  24. Also note that if the family is mum on all this, even off the record, then every trickle of info is coming from the team side. So of course KU wants the message to be that the visit was good and they’re pushing for a shutdown.
