Indiana vs Kennesaw State 6 PM on BTN Plus
reconmkd replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well, I will post a report on what I can see once I reach the summit of Mt. Crumpit for the last time in 2023. Wish me luck, lol. -
Made it to my perch on Mt. Crumpit! don't know who is more tired, the 11y.o. Or me. Weather report, warm, MM currently leads the B1G in free throw %, saw him dunk it 2xs. X is in street clothes. Newton was hitting 3s from 5 ft behind the arc on 1 foot. Not raining 3s in warmups from others, maybe a good sign cause they hit a lot of them Tues.

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!
reconmkd replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
This should be coach's entrance theme! Wow, I hope he is right and gets this program to a level never seen before. I think we will like him, but the media will grow tired of him. I just get that feeling that there is a hint of RMK attitude towards the media buried in there, lol. -
I saw a local kid signed with IU back in November and decided to stay with CCC. Caleb King, Pekin, Indiana, 6'5" DE/TE. Not listed on 247, but had interest/offers from IU, Louisville, UK, UIndy, Air Force, Army, Butler, Penn, and Souther Ill. He will be on campus in January as a mid-term graduate.

It has to be a mental thing, Cupps fading back or to the side, to not get blocked? CJ, IDK, but needs to take a chill pill before each game. Banks, I am not as concerned about, his mechanics seem ok, but I don't think when he was recruited that anyone thought he would be a solid contributor until later. Overall, this team just flat out lacks confidence in anything they do and there is no true leader on the floor at any time. Someone, outside of Trey, needs to step up (I love TG, but he is not a leader like that), Walker seemed to do ok at it last night, but as someone else posted, he is a one year rental.

His warm up shots are completely different from his in game shots. At half-time last night, I lost count of how many 3s he hit. All warmup shots were straight up and down, no lateral movement, just a funky shot form, but they went in at a high clip. I assume that most practice shots are the same. You could probably say the same about CJs shots as well, he hit a lot in warmups where he wasn't jumping through the roof and had great form.

Idk what is going on, but from up here at Mt. Crumpit, it's not just lack of energy! Passes are not in time, screens and cuts are lackluster, shot selection in the dumps, no commitment to switches on D. This is ridiculous, I know I don't pay as much as some for tickets but it is getting really hard to justify the time and money involved going to games. I hope the locker room is shaking with a surprise ghost of Christmas past a$$ chewing.

Man I hate attending losses, I also hate attending losses with loud, obnoxious, opposing fans all around. Sure was a lot of blue where the student/mini-series tickets were! Game was great but with about 3 minutes to go, I just figured we were not going to survive. Kansas' goal was to shutdown MR and Ware and they were pretty good at it, if you count fouling nearly every possession. Even my former boss (Kensucky fan) texted to say what an absolute hose job by the stripes.

Foot injuries suck and I feel bad for X. I have always had bad ankles, from basketball and the army. After getting into the VA system, I finally figured out my issue was that I wasn't just twisting/spraining my ankles. They found 7 different scars on my right talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments indicating that I tore the ligaments at least that many times and my ankles are very loose do to the extra length of the ligaments now. They asked if I wanted surgery to fix it but warned that I would be in a boot for a long time. Even with a tightly tied military boot, I could roll my ankle by stepping on a pebble on a sidewalk.
