Am I missing something? Everyone reported last week that Bryant faxed his LOI...?
-
I'm not seeing it to be honest. They're both fast but their running styles aren't really that similar.
-
The Jackson deal is still embarrassing but I definitely agree Lester is better. I hope he just has some rust to shake off or something. I'll be interested to see if we make a deal for Hamels or another good pitcher deeper into the summer to try and make a run. The only problem is, I don't want to give up any of the young guys on the MLB team, or Almora, Schwarber, etc. But it's give and take I guess.

I'm really excited about the new approach for Starlin. Everyone was talking last night about how into the game he was and it doesn't seem like he's ever had that fire. Someone probably told him that Addy was coming up to be honest, then he decided to play. Lester has been really disappointing. I hope he gets it figured out soon or I'll be really worried about that investment.

I'm not convinced he will right now. Russell will play 2nd for now. If Baez gets his bat out of his nether regions and gets called back up he'll go to 3rd and move Bryant to left possibly. Or Starlin to 3rd, Russell to short and Bryant to left with Baez at 2nd. So many possibilities. And all of them leave us with an average of like 24 in the infield.

I'd like to apologize in advance to the NL Central and MLB as a whole. Addy Russell got called up and is making his first career start tonight. Brace yourselves.

Bird is a genius. I bet our style of play doesn't change at all, but he won't let Roy know that. They want to move on from Roy, but who is going to step away from the amount of money he can opt in to? Bird is forcing Roy's hand and making him opt out. Looks like a game of chicken if you ask me, who's going to make the first move?

I just ran a mock lottery on ESPN that has us 2nd taking Mudiay. Let's do that scenario. (I'd take Russell there but I'm not going to be greedy) 4/5 times running it has us either 11 or 12 taking Turner. I like Turner, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing if we could trade out if we stay in that 10-14 purgatory range. Update: I'm now at 9/10 at either 11 or 12 taking Turner. Update 2: Now at 18/20 with the other being #3 taking Jahsus.

I'm beyond confused by your point here. (Not to mention the fact that I NEVER mentioned Hartman in my post, even though I would gladly have him start at the 3 or 4) Let's say Yogi stays, in our likely starting lineup this year we will have: Yogi, who can drive and shoot the 3. If not Yogi, probably Rob who is similar and probably better at attacking the basket based on height. Jimmy, who can drive and shoot the 3. Troy, who is very good at going to the basket and has shown a decent jumper. Holt, Perea, Hartman, the first two are primarily inside players and Hartman is admittedly one dimensional on offense, but his one dimension helped to win us a few games this year. Bryant, who is a bruiser that shocked people with his 3 point shooting ability in the past few weeks. You can't deal with ONE guy who is primarily known as a 3 point shooter (but also brings many other solid attributes to the table) in the starting lineup, but instead want to start a completely unproven 6'8ish freshman wing? Because it looks like, around him, there are already 4 pretty multi-talented offensive players.

We have a .7% chance at 1st, .8% at 2nd, and 1% at 3rd.

I'm actually a little bit relieved. Let's hope for a good lotto pick and reload this offseason.
-
Seriously? He can say his strengths are whatever he wants them to be. It's whether or not he actually possesses those strengths against the competition he will face at IU (a level of competition that he has NEVER gone against). If we're saying a guy should start because HE said that he is good at certain things, then I'm not sure about the "Indiana fans have bball IQ" argument.
-
I would like to see him on the floor without 2 of the best big guys in America with him. I wonder if he can play the bruising defensive style that Vogel likes down low.
-
He's 6'10. I think he is an interesting prospect because he is more athletic than West, but still has the mid range game. It looks like he would be around for when we pick too.
-
Looking like we have a good shot to get in. It's so bittersweet. We miss a lottery chance in a really nice draft, but we're in the playoffs with Atlanta (AGAIN). If we're in...might as well make some noise.
-
Yeah they should always be good, but man it's so diluted with them being in the same division. Maybe it'll change if they both are back to regularly battling for the east but it just gets talked up so much and nothing exciting ever really happens.
-
Does anyone outside of NY or Boston (or maybe even inside NY or Boston) truly care about Yankees/Red Sox? ESPN talks it up as the greatest rivalry since Persians vs The World but they play like 75 times a year and nothing ever happens except the 75 slowest games of the year.
-
Absolutely. I'd much rather go there to see the Cubs. Plus it's closer. Getting to the north side is hellacious.

Brb buying a Thomas Bryant jersey. @MikeMillerHT: Someone asks Thomas Bryant what he thought of the coeds at IU. "They have some real beautiful women. I'm gonna keep it real."

Haha I was just messing with you. Wrigley is a frickin hole. Neighborhood is cool, history is cool, the smell of stale pee and rotting, well, everything not so cool. I'll go to Busch or Great American any day.

Someone's never been to Wrigley...............

Well.......you ARE home sick. Nice little project for El Capitan.

They look normal to me, boss.
