Kyle Schwarber - Philadelphia Phillies

Nice note from Schwarbs. He will be dearly missed in Chicago. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Klatt’s right. Their only ranked win is over an overrated Auburn team and lost to the only two other ranked teams they played by a combined 33 points. Not sure how that constitutes a top ten ranking. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I think people just long for the days when you’d see consistent improvement from players. Doesn’t really feel like any of the guys on the current squad who have been around for 2-3 years have seen big strides in their game. Yes it’s on them to get better and put the hours in but part of it stems from a motivating Coach. I don’t know just my 2 cents while watching this horrible display of basketball. Great time for halftime to come, Hoosiers looked a little shaky on offense down the stretch. Regroup and finish em off in the second half. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Almost hard not to laugh out loud when he leaps for an offensive board and gets noticeably WAY higher than everyone else despite being shorter. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Shows a lot too when we all haven’t given up on the season because the backup was an even better recruit and has shown some promise. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

FWIW, the Athletic published an article ranking the top 20 coaches in the carousel this offseason: Feldman: 20 names to know as the college football coaching carousel gets going https://theathletic.com/2228190/2020/11/30/college-football-coaching-carousel-urban-meyer-matt-campbell/?source=user_shared_article. Allen is left off the list which could be indicative of the national media’s expectation that CTA remains in Bloomington! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Fair point! Didn’t see much of the NU game beyond them going down 17-0 as I figured at that point the -7.5 spread was out the window. Merely wanted to offer a possible opposing viewpoint with this weekend’s big game approaching. Obviously tough to forget about the history of the Badgers making an embarrassment out of IU but I think this season’s different and have been tired of the national media having teams like UGA above IU when the Dawgs got smacked in their two losses. Go Hoosiers! Can’t wait to see this secondary make Mertz look like the redshirt freshman he is :) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Totally agree with what you’re saying and understand the history of IU football and Wisky football and their games against one another.... But to play devils advocate I want to offer an opposing viewpoint not necessarily contradictory to your post but the narrative in general. This is an Indiana team that has steamrolled every opponent they’ve faced sans Ohio State (understandable, the only team to give them a run for their money in the last two years being Clemson) and Penn State (1st game of the season and actually dominated them the entire first half and choked the lead). The Hoosiers are 5-1 and have looked head and shoulders above every team. The Badgers are what, 2-1 with wins coming against Illinois and Michigan and a loss against Northwestern. NU got drubbed essentially by a Michigan State team that Indiana DEMOLISHED. Nothing this season has shown me that Indiana should be underdogs. This is a game I expect to win and think it says a lot about the disrespect the Hoosiers are getting. Replace the name “Indiana” with “Michigan” and the Wolverines are 7.5 point favorites against Wisconsin and a top 5 team in the country. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me being a little pissed off about the Penix injury and the national disrespect, but Indiana is a damn good football team that should beat Wisky next week and hopefully go 8-1 because the only team that has been capable of beating the Hoosiers has been Ohio State: a team that was up 16-0 in their last non-con game, the last non-con game any big ten team has played, against f****** Clemson. Obviously a good win for the Hoosiers and another week covering the spread! Makes the Hoosiers 6-0 ATS and still the best team in the country in that regard. In other news the Penix injury sucks and is one of the more classic IUFB occurrences I can remember. However, this is a defensive team; Wommack’s unit is the best in the big ten and arguably up there nationally. They will continue to carry the Hoosiers a bit and all we need is Tuttle and the offense to be serviceable. We might not have beaten Wisco w Penix but now the hope is to take care of business in the other games even w/ Tuttle at the helm. I don’t believe this season to be “over” and still think they can accomplish some special things this season. Super unfortunate still but all hope is not lost Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Honestly A&M has some big wins but they lost their biggest game by 4 (FOUR) touchdowns! I get it’s Bama but could you imagine if the score had held 35-7 OSU? Indiana would’ve nearly fallen out of the rankings entirely. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
