  1. On the list and willing to take the job are different things. Mick Cronin badly wants this job.
  2. It even more likely that this push is from his agent to get Iowa to move quick.
  3. However, Rabby has to start gambling at some point. He's got to show his subscribers that he "knows" something. With how quite things have been in this search, he's probably feeling the heat. Oh after they stirred up that Beard stuff last week (after saying he wasn't a candidate since the start) then immediately went back to saying he's not a candidate, he's been banning people right and left when people were rightfully starting to get after him.
  4. 200 a day plus expenses I believe.
  5. There hasn't been a big name coach hired at a major Blue Blood program in some time. Louisville and Kentucky just hired guys who never won a NCAA tournament game last year. Unless something happens like with Calipari being forced out, the odds that in the NIL era that a coach who's winning and has a comfortable NIL set up to move schools isn't likely. the choices are going to be reclamation projects or up and coming coaches and it has nothing to do with Indiana at a program.
  6. Jeff Goodman has tweeted late this afternoon that McCollum is a top candidate which has lead to a storm of other places reporting that it's gone far enough that the school and him have talked (Peegs crew for one) More smoke. https://x.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1900299555138396447
  7. Been lurking around since 2013, but haven't posted much. And my point would be that being asked to retire is being fired, which is why he's eligible for a buyout. I'm just laughing about the retirement talk. It's so funny, especially with him saying on national TV "maybe I'm going to soon"
  8. It's been the exact opposite. That not even on the list that I've seen.
  9. But you don't get your buyout when you quit, it's only when you get fired or take another job......
  10. Hold on, is Brad taking the job or not? Fess up.
  11. Oh so he is not getting his buy out paid out in full immediately?
  12. Trilly is usually on his twitter spaces listening.
  13. Didn't Isiah grease the skids for this on his radio appearance?
  14. https://x.com/curryhickssage/status/1899612045026247157?s=46 Here is the spaces, some of this lines up with the post from the obviously pro Beard coach from Texas that was posted in this thread a few days ago, but being told from different sides. Starts around 1 hour 17 minutes roughly Both sides of the story do point that Chris wasn't willing to get help or change behavior when confronted during his suspension. Both stories talk about an incident in New York, but it's from both sides. I think we can put together that there was an incident in New York, it probably wasn't quite what either side said it was, but there was some sort of situation on that trip. I think we can safely say at this point he refused whatever steps Texas wanted him to address (which was probably rehab).
  15. I might too, but I would never think I should be hired by Indiana University for the men's basketball program.
  16. It wasn't really a rumor, this person was a Drake guy who had seen it telling the story from my understanding. It wasn't even an IU podcast.
  17. Did you hear the podcast where McCollum is known to vanity search his name and go after people personally on social media that are critical of his coaching decisions? Because if there is any truth to that, then I'm not sure he's going to enjoy coaching here and probably does need to go to Iowa. I'd make Kelsey say no if you want him, his contract is junk and they haven't fixed it yet. Golden probably doesn't need to make the move, and my guess if Florida pays him. Bucky is someone if we got that many nos to get there it would be disappointing.
  18. I think Reneau is a great building block, I just bet he jumps to a school that he thinks will win. I don't think Rice is a horrible guy to hang onto if the system coming in fits him. I wouldn't get in a bidding war over either of them I don't think unless the new coach fits that style to a T, which isn't likely.
  19. She stated she broke his glasses by taking his from his hand and throwing them before storming out of the room. He followed her to her room and slapped the glasses from her face, breaking them, and leaving scratches and abrasions around her eye. That's all part of the non denied part of the police report. There are two sets of broken glasses, him a pair of readers, her prescription glasses that being broken made her unable to see. Without the choking it should have still resulted in his arrest, it was assault, he had no injuries, and she had injuries all over her body. I don't blame you for not wanting to do this, there is no good excuse for what he did, and you sound awful trying to defend it. It was gross. He's not a good enough coach to bother with even if you 1000 percent believe his story, he still sounds nuts and he's only been out of the second round twice in his career. There are equal type candidates without this mess.
  20. The pictures and injuries are described in detail in the police report. But i've never seen them. Texas isn't as open with their legal system as Indiana is now, and it's hard to find this stuff if the media doesn't release it, which in this case, I don't believe they were released.
  21. Yes she grabbed his reading glasses from his hand and threw them, and then stormed out. He followed her to her bedroom and was offered another set of reading glasses to use, but instead decided to slap her glasses off her face and breaking them. So she did break glasses, not quite in the same way.
  22. Oh I believe she was paid, but we don't know that. They split immediately and were no longer together after that incident. It's sad that the job at Indiana due to meddling, fan expectations, and the recent lack of success has us mired in these kind of hiring choices, but here we are. I think this is a hard sell to a fanbase that's about half female, with Pam in charge, given that the entire Greek System is on shut down right now because of many abusive and gross things that have been done to women this year on campus. But he's also had only two really good seasons in his career. So this isn't like we would be getting Pitino.
  23. I would prefer someone with a lot more power 5 proven experience. But it's starting to seem that the desire of coaches to coach here has been greatly exaggerated. So with that in mind, I've softened on this idea. Maybe he's the next great young coach. Worse case scenario, if you can keep the meddling out of the program, you have a better shot after his run if it doesn't work out. But it could be a home run hire.
  24. She did not recant her entire story. She recanted one specific part of that story that was tied to the felony charge being pursued by prosecutors which involved strangling. She only recanted that part of it, and admitted that she had a part in the altercation. Beard didn't deny getting physical with her. The charges fell apart because of that and her unwillingness to cooperate which would have involved refiling the complaint with different charges, so they passed.
