  1. I need some help from Hoosier Nation. I decided to enter into the Dr Pepper Tuition Challenge which awards $100,000 to one lucky winner and some smaller amounts to the other finalists. Pretty much you have to think of something that you want to help change in the world and how your degree would help you accomplish that. My goal is to help spread awareness about athletes who have depression and let them know they are not alone. I've played sports for the majority of my 21 years of life and six years ago, I was diagnosed with depression and I'm still fighting it. I want to help and make a difference. For this challenge, I had to get at least 50 votes. Once I got that, and I did, I got to make a video that explained more and be officially submitted. The voting ends on October 17th (my birthday) and that's when they will pick 8 finalists. 2 people will go to each football conference championship game and have a football throwing contest and the winner moves on and so forth until there's a winner. I'm currently sitting at 112 votes and I could definitely use some more and get as many as possible. I posted the link at the bottom so if anyone and everyone could vote for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I can post the video if anyone would like to see it. Thank you all, God bless, and go Hoosiers! http://www.drpeppertuition.com/profile/Mike-T-52
  2. Hey fellow Hoosiers! This is my first time creating a new topic so I'm a little nervous but hopefully this will go well. I know it's a few weeks late but I'm a full-time college student/full-time worker/full-time boyfriend so I'm a little busy. Story time: while working at a well-known golf store in Indy (which is way better than Golfsmith) during the summer, I happened to run across a certain Indiana University legend, Mr. Don Fischer. I had a quick chat with him about how I'm a huge IU fan, what's going on with Assembly Hall, how his golf game was doing, and why Jeremy Hollowell was so awful (jk, but I wish). As I completed checking him out at the register, I had a great idea. I asked him if it was possible to sit with him during a game to watch and study how he broadcasts and what all goes on during a game. He said the football game against Ball State on September 10th would be the best and he gave me his email. Two months later, I sent him an email reminding him and he remembered me and had me give him my phone number to call me to set up the details. September 10th comes along and I get to Memorial Stadium by 2:00pm like he wanted me to. I went over to the old elevators on the west side and my media pass was there waiting for me. I go up in the elevator, take a few steps out and to the left and there he is. He remembered me and we talked for a little bit while I asked him some questions about his career and I go to sit down in the IU radio booth. There, I see his partners Joe Smith, Buck Suhr (Errek Suhr's dad, anybody remember him??), and Terry Hutchens. I talked to all three for awhile until 3:00pm when the pregame show started. Long story short, I got to wear a headset, watch the IU football game as I'm watching and listening to Don Fischer and everyone call the game and help with stats and I even got to stay for the postgame show and I walked with him to his car! 'Twas one of the best days of my life and definitely makes me want to call games for IU!

    #IHSAA Boys/Girls State Tournament

Tipton grad right here. They just won their 4th straight sectional and were in their 6th straight sectional championship game. They are in the Lapel regional and play Fountain Central in the first game followed by Cass-Wapahani. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

    Big 10 Tournament

IU got a really good draw for this tournament. Probably the best draw they could have gotten. I really think they can beat Illinois in the first round. After that, I'm not so sure. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

    Rapid Reaction IU vs Nebraska

On offense, IU runs the same plays every time. They run a set play that brings the shot-clock down to around 15 seconds then they do one-on-one until someone throws up a shot. It gets annoying to watch this every single game. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners
