  1. At least there is something to sell with McCollum and Devries. Brownell there won’t be much of anyone buying what they’re selling and it would be a massive misstep from Dolson. If Brownell is hired than Dolson has proven he is out of his depth and the Cignetti hire was lightning in a bottle. He hired Woodson and there’s no way to spin his glowing review of woody in his pressers and interviews. He also extended CTA and cost the university/donors $15m just to buy him out. He needed this hire to land. If it’s Brownell, they will lose a massive portion of the fanbase to permanent apathy. Perhaps that’s what they want?
  2. If they hire Brownell, at this juncture, then Knight was 100% right in his estimation that the university was actively trying to de-emphasize the basketball program. Would be a worse hire than Woodson imho.
  3. Think you’re wrong here. Nothing about McCollum says that he is anything like Archie. We’re going to be lucky if we get him.
  4. The Grabill country store…… best fried chicken buffet in the world
  5. I picked one hell of a day to work. Sheesh.
  6. Everyday I’m HUSSTLIN
  7. Where I’m at…… If McCollum really wants this job and believes he can win championships here, then he’s a no brainer. If there is any doubt in his mind at all, then we shouldn’t. A prerequisite of succeeding at Indiana is supreme confidence that you can win at Indiana. Think back to Kelvin Sampson’s introductory press conference
  8. All things considered. Huss SHOULD do very well here. I’d be thrilled with Huss or McCollum.
  9. Leave Bloomington without additional DV charges.
  10. McCollum has stated before that he wants to be at places that give him the opportunity to win at the top of his league.
  11. I give you credit for making me aware of McCollum years ago. Good eyes you have there sir.
  12. I know that’s hard for a non-ball knower to grasp…. But yes.. and I say that jokingly btw.
  13. This is the problem with people setting their expectations on Brad Stevens. If there is anyone not named Brad Stevens but in the mold of Brad Stevens over the last decade, it’s Ben McCollum.
  14. This isn’t a personal attack…. More of an indictment of our fanbase as a whole… but….. Who the hell do we think we are exactly? Last season Kentucky had to go WAYY down the list to eventually get an alumni. Kentucky! As much as we hate them, they are objectively a much better program in the eyes of everyone not wearing crimson and cream glasses. The Indiana job is a great job. Don’t get me wrong. But winning coaches from P4 schools don’t need a blueblood school to win championships. Nate Oats came from Buffalo. Fans on this site would have seizures if we hired Buffalo’s coach. But he’s turning out to be a potential all time great. He’s tracking anyways. Indiana would be LUCKY to land Ben McCollum. It would be the best hire since Bob Knight.
  15. Respectfully, what does Drake being historically great have anything to do with what McCollum’s done this year? You just accused someone of minimizing Dusty’s accomplishments. Is this not doing the exact same thing? He had 1 player return from last year’s roster….. How exactly is Drake’s historical achievements helping him in that scenario? Indiana has won 5 national titles…How has that historical dominance worked out for Mike Davis, Tom Crean, Archie, and Woody? I love Dusty May. I think he’s an excellent coach. But I believe McCollum is a generational coach. His peers seem to agree with me. He can win at any level of basketball. When you say the the two are not comparable, I tend to agree. One is better imho and the other is Dusty May. Note: I have no idea how I jacked the formatting up this bad.
  16. Generational. We will regret not getting this guy. Brad isn’t walking through that door.
  17. Next time watch your ******* mouth…… jk. We’re all adults…. Most of us anyways.
  18. Ben McCollum. Generational coach….. who gives a **** about pace. How about WINS?
  19. Convenient that you’re leaving out the fact that he’s at the very top of his league in year 1 in Division 1. Also….. absolute mind numbing take saying you wish Cig never happened. Wild.
  20. Good thing we have Cignetti as the newly minted face of the university. I’m not sure any hire we make will unseat him as such.
  21. Always been on the McCollum train. I wrote a report on him back in December. That thing needs updated by the way.
  22. SMU also has F-You money. You didn’t know this?
  23. My 10 year old son is a HUGE Celtics fan. He was born on St. Patty’s Day and has always been enamored with anything related….. Shamrocks, leprechauns, the color green, etc. His favorite basketball player is Larry Bird. He will sit and watch Bird highlights all night. He thinks he’s going to be “like Larry Bird but go to IU and stay this time.” The IU side of things is the only influence he gets from me, as I’m a Pacers fan through and through.
  24. This always happens around coach hiring cycles. We get an influx of outside posters who are here to feed off of the info. When things don’t pan out they get vitriolic. That usually dies down early into the offseason and this site gets back to its original core of posters (+/- a few new faces) that get along just fine. just have to bite down on the leather for now.
