BAYLOR MARYLAND WAKE NC STATE

Big Ten conference play kicks off tonight with Illinois at Maryland. Now that we are basically a month into the season I think we have a much better feel for where teams are vs projection. But obviously until mid January it is difficult to tell the contenders from the pretenders. My power rankings at the start of big ten play: 1. Purdue (GROSS, but they have the two best wins) 2. Indiana 3. Illinois 4. Maryland 5. Iowa 6. Ohio State 7. Michigan State This is where it gets messy.... 8. Wisconsin 9. Penn State 10. Rutgers 11. Michigan 12. Nebraska 13. Northwestern 14. Minnesota I think there are a clear top 7 that will make the tournament. Wisconsin will probably make it, but their offense is horrendous. At this point it looks like Penn State, Rutgers, and Michigan will be the closest to bubble teams.

He broke his foot and had surgery on it after their scrimmage with Kansas. Not an exact timetable but they said the hope was for him to be available at the start of the new year.

He is such an easy guy to root for as well. He hasn't been just a stat stuffer on a bad team, he has been a stat stuffer in spite of the bad teams. So, it sucks that his legacy to this point is tainted because of the lack of success, as I believe he is amongst the best to play here. Not his fault that the coaching and roster have been incompetent Hope he wins big this year and removes any doubt.

Ugh I remember that game too. Was part of the three game stretch that ended it for me with the Crean era. Nebraska at home, Louisville in Indy, Wisconsin at home all losses.

I agree, I think Wake will be at least a bubble team all year. I expect them to make the tournament honestly with they way Forbes has them playing going back to last year and because the ACC isn't that strong. and FWIW.... they smoked Ohio State in the secret scrimmage.
