The Hoosiers will start with a mid-week game against Miami (Ohio) on Wednesday, Sep. 11 and then will take on Ball State on Friday, Sep. 13. WEEKEND REWIND: -Indiana Field Hockey will look to gain momentum after a busy first week of the season. -The Hoosiers started the season playing three games in four days. Everyone got involved as ten different Hoosiers recorded a shot in the game. -The Hoosiers had a strong game against Kent State where they had the largest margin of victory against the Golden Eagles since 2012 (5-3). - All three goals were scored by different Hoosiers, including the first goal of Mijntje Hagen's collegiate career. -In a defensive battle, Indiana lost to No. 11 Liberty. 2-1, in double overtime. IU was able to hold Liberty scoreless and to five shots through the first three quarters. -Both teams scored their first goal in the fourth quarter, with Indiana scoring in the final seconds of regulation on a penalty corner with Hagen finding the back of the cage. -The Hoosiers fell 4-2 in the home opener after two late goals by Maine. NEW AND RETURNING PRODUCTION: -Indiana has had strong early showings from their returning talent and newcomers. -Sophomore Inés Garcia Prado and freshman Mijntje Hagen currently lead the Hoosiers in scoring with two goals apiece. -Senior Sofia Arrebola Garcia leads the team in assists with two. -Both of Hagen's goals have come from her only two shots she has taken on the season. -Senior Arabella Loveridge has continued to be a defensive anchor in the cage for the Hoosiers. She has recorded 12 saves thus far with a season high of seven against Liberty.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After a grueling stretch of five matches in seven days, the Indiana Volleyball team (3-2, 0-0) returns home for the Indiana Invitational this weekend. Chicago State, Southern Indiana and Ball State will make the trip to Bloomington as each team gets set to play three matches. IU will play four of its final five non-conference games inside the confines of Wilkinson Hall, beginning with Chicago State on Friday (Sept. 13) afternoon. The Hoosiers will play their only doubleheader of the season this Friday, meeting Southern Indiana in the nightcap. The non-conference slate ends with a return trip from Notre Dame in over a week's time (Sept. 22). The Hoosiers were tested early this past week, playing a pair of programs currently in the top-20 of the AVCA rankings. Defending national champions Texas beat IU in straight sets while Miami (Fla.) got past the Hoosiers in four games. IU played Miami close in a match separated by just two total points. Juniors Avry Tatum and Candela Alonso-Corcelles are enjoying outstanding seasons, averaging 3.32 and 3.16 kills per set respectively. Each player has gone for 10+ kills on four different occasions. Both players are tied for the team lead in aces (9) with senior setter Camryn Haworth. Tatum leads the team with 63 kills while Alonso-Corcelles is in a close second at 60 putaways. If the Hoosiers can pull off three wins at their home invitational, it will be the first 6-2 start to a season since 2019. A trio of wins would give IU a 4-0 start to its home slate for the second-straight campaign. In addition to matches against Chicago State and Southern Indiana, IU will close the weekend against Ball State on Saturday (Sept. 14) afternoon. A friend just sent me this version of Stuck In The Middle With You from Gerry Rafferty's posthumous album Rest In Blue. I love the guitar and different arrangement

My daughter graduated from UIndy, and wishes she'd went somewhere else. What you've said above is absolutely true about them. Definitely not an isolated incident of a school not being able to continue :(
-
Not true at all. UIndy is hanging on by a thread by having no money. W Illinois is almost bankrupt. Few smaller schools are cash flush
-
Didn't want to start the game thread (we haven't had much success when I've started them lol), but IU opened as 1.5 favorite over UCLA per FanDuel
-
Appreciate the updates! I was checking while doing other stuff that wasn’t nearly as fun
-
3-1 Final!
-
2-1 Starting 4th
-
2-0!

Good start! IU up 1-0 in 3rd vs Kent State!

Nice!! I'll pick some up to try for sure! The pic at the bottom reminds me- I bought myself a nice whiskey yesterday at the bar, the deadbeat guy who always bums drinks from me started hinting. While I was sipping on a nice bourbon, he got (without his knowledge) a nice well McCormicks lol. His face looked a lot like that!! -

I'm so psyched for this season. It will be fun to watch new plays and players. I already have my yardwork planned to be finished at 12, chili going by 8 am. There's a 45% chance of rain, but the high is only 81!! IU beer mug moved to the front of the glasses, it's go time!
