  4. Graduate transfer QB Brandon Dawkins going to Indiana ADAM RITTENBERG ESPN Staff Writer 9:38 PM ET2 Minute Read Indiana is adding former Arizona starting quarterback Brandon Dawkins as a graduate transfer, Dawkins told ESPN.com on Tuesday. Dawkins, who started most of the 2016 season and the start of the 2017 season for the Wildcats, picked Indiana after visiting campus two weeks ago. He also took a visit to Florida Atlantic, and several other FBS programs expressed interest. Dawkins will graduate from Arizona next month and be eligible immediately with one year to play. "I didn't see a better fit for me," Dawkins said. " I could have committed there two weeks ago. There were other schools, but at the end of the day, Indiana definitely showed that they're interested and they wanted me, they made that clear and apparent. I really respect that about them. They weren't going to dance around. They genuinely wanted me." Dawkins appeared in 22 games for Arizona, passing for 2,418 yards with 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, while adding 1,582 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. He opened last season as the top quarterback before being overtaken by Khalil Tate, who has two years of eligibility left. Dawkins looks forward to competing for Indiana's starting job and learning from offensive coordinator Mike DeBord and quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan, who played for Rich Rodriguez, Dawkins' coach at Arizona, while both were at Michigan. Brandon Dawkins lost the starting quarterback job to Khalil Tate last season. Casey Sapio/USA TODAY Sports "I don't think you can coach quarterback if you haven't played it at a high level," Dawkins said. "And coach DeBord, some of the quarterbacks he's had, he had Tom Brady, Brian Griese, just to name a few. Everything's there from a mental standpoint. I know I'm not going to be able to walk in and start, but i'm fired up to get in a new competition with a new group of guys." "I'm fired up to learn a new offense and go win some games." A native of Oxnard, Calif., Dawkins said he has never been east of Arizona and looks forward to a fresh start in a new league and in a new part of the country. He expects to bring a dynamic run element to Indiana's offense. Sophomore quarterback Peyton Ramsey, who started four games last season, competed this spring alongside incoming freshman Michael Penix Jr. and redshirt freshman Nick Tronti. "A big thing for them is fitting the system to their quarterback," Dawkins said. "That's huge. If the fit isn't right, you can't just force it. Obviously, I'm going to be learning a whole new system, but they're not going to make me do things I'm not comfortable doing. They know my skills and talents and assets. They're going to push me, and I'm ready to give it my all." Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  11. Ellison to miss rest of spring with leg injury April 7, 2018 Mike Miller Football 14 comments You won’t see Morgan Ellison in next week’s spring game. Indiana’s rising sophomore running back has been shut down due to injury. IU coach Tom Allen said Saturday that Ellison recently suffered a lower leg injury and will miss the final few practices of the spring. The good news, Allen said, is that the injury shouldn’t affect Ellison’s upcoming sophomore season. The Ohio native is expected to be ready to return in time for the program’s summer workouts. “He will be back,” Allen said. “It was actually a very good prognosis. We feel good about him, but obviously at this point we’re not gonna take any chances. We’ll get him healthy, get him ready to roll and he should be full bore by the beginning of the summer.” It’s a disappointing end to the spring for Ellison, who turned heads with his conditioning. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound running back dropped six percent of his body fat from the beginning of January, while also showing off better burst as a runner. Last season, Ellison led IU with 704 rushing yards and six touchdowns, earning IU’s Offensive Newcomer of the Year award. With spring practice winding down and Allen trying to protect the depth of his backfield, walk-ons Ahrod Lloyd and Connor Thomas appeared to get the bulk of the carries during Saturday’s situational scrimmage. Lloyd, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound redshirt freshman, looked good while fighting for yards near the goal line. “I’ve really been impressed with Ahrod Lloyd,” Allen said. “He came here as a walk-on from Park Tudor. Awesome kid. Runs hard. He’s been very impressive through the whole spring. He was really good for us in the fall for scout teams. (With) his quickness, power and speed, he’s been a real pleasant surprise.”

  13. Just for the fun of adding fuel to the fire, if you read that article, he calls both Drew and Miller "coach", but calls KU's coach "Bill Self". Reading of tea leaves, commence!
  14. Not really to the extent we are. Mile (at HSN) said he just got some info today, and would be shocked if it's KU (he's said that all along). Said things are still up in the air, can't call IU. Said he doubts KU is a player. Most other boards are kind of "meh" about it
  15. Nice recovery as IU wins today, 4-3!

  22. Columbus/Bartholomew County experiencing major flooding. This is Mill Race Park- the part above water is the top of the amphitheater. 3 days of no school (several roads under water), one person missing (possibly chose to kayak on extremely dangerous river). My area is ok but hearing military helicopters go over every 15 minutes is unnerving (I live near a military area). Praying for those affected (several neighborhoods have been evacuated) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
