Just a quick search to compare a few Big 1.o teams for funsies. IU Rutger Iowa Northwestern Penn State Maryland

Yes, we don't go hard after loose balls and have had a case of butterfingers trying to grab rebounding balls. I believe this plays into the foul discrepancy too. We seem to not go hard or go balls to the wall hard and foul. You would think with a combined 15+ years of Big 1.o experience in our starting lineup we'd find a happy medium between being soft and whacking the **** out of teams.

I was sorting by the "opponents of played games" column. My understanding is that is the strength of the schedule you've already played(?)

If I'm interpreting this correctly we have a 6-5 record against the 4th easiest schedule in the Big 1.o to date?

St. Mary's? Won the play-in game to get to the round of 64 and lost to a better St. Mary's team after not sleeping for several days?
-
Woot woot, went 4-2 against the 6 worst teams since the restart. Although now we're tied with Maryland (or they're ahead depending on how you look at it) and Michigan has a worse record than some of them since the restart. Does anyone have Kenpom Big 1.o SOS for conference only games?

Going through the motions. We were on a 5 gamer we didn't really need this one. Add this to our list of WTFs: - "press break" - one turnover turning into 20 in a short amount of time - waiting to call a timeout after a 20-5 run - giving up straight line drives - looking great against the zone one trip and forgetting how to beat a zone the next trip TJD came out in the second half to two straight airballs (one broke the backboard) from 3'

Hard work beats talent when talent refuses to work hard or something like that. It takes a system, culture, leadership to realize that potential talent. We seem to be lacking in some areas.

What has changed in our press break from the Iowa game until now? We pass it between two guards in the backcourt hoping the defense gives a little each time for us to get it over in time. We've broken the press a few times throwing it to the middle of the court but it seemed almost accidental and we immediately stopped doing that. We tend not to put our players in the best position for success always.

Did they start with talent or did they start with a system? It seems as least for Virginia, Nova, and Wiscy they started with a system. I would through MSU in there as it always seemed like a dog fight with them too. I don't get that vibe with these Hoosier teams. Edit: outside of us either fouling the **** out of teams or straight up trying to fight some MFers

Which makes me wonder how this exact team would play under a different coach/program/leadership. Losses happen but feel we've lost too many very winnable games and maybe won one we probably could have lost. I don't think we're on the plus side of that. If this team brought it (energy, effort, focus, etc.) every night I think we easily have 3 more wins.

Having a solid culture and environment to bring a player in like that would certainly help. I guess when we're not sure who is coming and going or who is zigging and who is zagging it makes it that much more difficult. The one constant is TJD will get his stats! We continue to foul a metric **** ton.

We're tied with Maryland in our "up" year while they have a first year head coach. We have far more talent than they do. Why do we continue to just be happy to get the ball across half court? Why doe we continue to toss the ball around the gym? Why do we continue to have butterfingers on loose balls and rebounds?
