  1. The only reason you might have to worry about TJD's dribble drives is because of ball screen action. Once TJD receives the ball just back off him and let him shoot. Edey or whoever is defending him will only need to get out of the paint if TJD is screening for a shooter AND that shooter is on. Hopefully JHS has a O$U type repeat performance.
  2. I glanced at it. I'm referring to several obvious fouls that were not called. I'm not shocked that it's staggering. How many 7-4 dudes have played at his level in the Big 1.o? We love to dog him for being massive but he has a lot of skill to go along with that frame.
  3. They could easily call several more fouls against opponents defending Edey. Right or wrong he is officiated differently. I wouldn't trust the Big 1.o officials to get that right most of the time.
  4. You mentioned quality of basketball. I provided three matchups that will most likely have better quality of basketball and less tackling. The Big 12 games will include the top 4 teams in a stacked conference this season. Time will tell on those ratings. I guess we did have the highest rated game with purdoodoo for a secondary or BTN a few years back. I'm sure that caught the eye of ESPN. We're a has been national rivalry. Dook/UNC is THE rivalry in college basketball. It's silly to try to compare those and the accomplishments that have come with those teams. purdoodoo has had a fantastic run by their standards and it's included a whopping one trip to the EE, we're struggling to consistently make the tourney. Dook and UNC are competing and winning nattys.
  5. What IU did to UNC at home or what purdoodoo did to Dook on a neutral court matters very little in where gameday is hosted or should be hosted. If that were the case there are several games that will probably be better suited for "quality of basketball" starting in the Big 12 with #8 Kansas (the one that throttled IU) and #13 Iowa State or #10 Texas at #7 Kansas State. The "quality of basketball" will probably be better. If you wanted a quality game with a rivalry aspect to it you could look at Gonzaga vs. St. Mary's. These aren't determined by quality of basketball but by hype and eyeballs. I'd venture to guess that Dook/UNC has had much better TV ratings than IU/purdoodoo. IF, massive IF, both IU and purdoodoo can be towards the top of basketball and produce great results (not just regional) over the next 5 years we might have a leg to stand on. Take just one of UNC/Dook and they have better results than IU/purdoodoo combined over the past [choose your time frame]. Dook/UNC is a national rivalry IU/purdoodoo is a regional rivalry
  6. We cope hard... A rivalry that has been fantastic for forever or a regional one that hasn't been great for years? One that was played thrice, including in the FF, last season or one that has seen the teams struggle to get into the tourney? He wouldn't be anything if he wasn't massive. They're the worst Big 1.o championship team ever.
  7. There were quite a few teams ranked 10+ who lost this week. We didn't beat anyone great but we've strung together some wins. I could see us sneaking in ~23.
  8. Or tied, whichever is preferred.
  9. We're tired for 3rd in the conference!!
  10. How about the one in the first half where his man ran baseline to the other side of the court and he was 10 minutes late? The one where he continues to get beat or has to foul because he's out of position? He spreads the floor for players to work the lane. He takes a hot minute to get his shot off that's why he racks up 30+ shot fakes a game but only a few shots. There is a reason his defensive rating is really poor. He spreads the floor though.
  11. The first few minutes of the Rutger v Iowa game was really rough for the officials. Omoruyi had two defensive possessions where he was closer to 90 degrees than straight vertical doesn't get called for either. On the other end, Iowa was getting called for some questionable stuff.
  12. Great win! Glad JHS started out on fire to keep us in the game until everyone else got going. Would like to see reduced minutes for a few players to allow others to get run. Hopefully we'll get there. 5-0 with the candy stripes back on the mainland!
  13. That's the way to take it up strong TJD!! Glad Reneau got that call
  14. Kopp out of position for the rebound then got back cut. That 3 though!
  15. WTF - AH trying to injure some people again
  16. It works much better when we move off of dumping it into TJD. Also helps when we make those shots and not just pump fake it.
  17. That's how you close the half! Way to go HOOSIERS!!
  18. Smart play to close the half, maybe even extend the lead a bit
  19. Just interesting some of the "stats" and timing.
  20. He does have a rebound and those leadership skills
