I definitely saw fatigue. I saw similar fatigue when we played psu after almost two weeks off. I guess there was an excuse there too. It's good we can excuse everything as fans but hopefully there is some accountability in the program. Being fatigued and getting beat by a team that executes is one thing. Being absolutely outclassed by an equal after talking about how you were going to prove the NCAA wrong is embarrassing. I'm not surprised our players and fans can't see the difference though. We're just happy we could finally kind of dance again.

Rate The 2021-2022 Season! Staff + Players

Are we grading on a curve? Can we give an incomplete? Defense - we did some nice things. Trayce given freedom to roam and protect the rim was a net positive but cost us in many situations. We did an excellent job mucking up some games. The over helping that started early in the season and continued was atrocious. I don't know how this was acceptable. We kept saying "well another team won't hit another % close to that" before they would. It cost us the psu game, the Iowa Big 1.o tourney game, and the absolute embarrassment at home to Michigan. (How could they possibly get a better seed than us?!) We could have rebounded a lot better for the size we had but we had a few negative net rebounders in the starting lineup. Offense - the latter season PnR with X and TJD was looking good for a few games. For the most part, the offense was offensive and looked a lot like Arch offense. Toss it into TJD and watch. It felt like we had players auditioning more than running offense to score. Glad Kopp was able to expand his game. Glad Race was able to get some shots up from deep. Intangibles - yuck. We need to get way more basketball IQ in the off-season. We need to find a baseline e and e. We need to find leaders. We lacked all of that this season and it showed in many games. We played a really easy noncon schedule and probably one of the easier Big 1.o schedules. We played a few 'good enough' games in the Big 1.o tourney to go dancing. That's improvement but barely. I'd probably give an overall C-. We passed but didn't really feel like we did enough homework or preparation to pass the finals. There is a ton of work to get this program back to where it was and should be. Time will tell. -
Shhh... people won't like that and start calling you a non fan. We were "winded" when our starters returned from the bench they all shared together while 5 backups held down the fort. We were just too tired to do anything in this game. We should be proud they were able to even make it on the court as tired as they were. You gotta get the company line and start towing it. There is an excuse for everything. ;-)

Huh? We had a few players who didn't get on the floor all season, too cool for school. We have over helped on (potential) drives all season. We've had optional e and e for entire halves of the season and a few whole games. Just last game how many bunnies did we miss? That's not the first time this season either. We tend to glide and jump away from defense all too often. The refs, travel, bad bounces, Big 1.o, toilet paper wasn't up to standards, bad music on the ride, blah blah blah. It's bad when you get annihilated like we did but it's even worse when you make videos of "being disrespected" by the NCAA. We've made ourselves look like clowns far too often. Keep the mouth shut, do work, prove yourself on the court. I'm sure we'll here soon enough how we're going to be so much better next season.

The difference is purdoodoo can score with anyone. They've been really bad defensively recently but if they can get the possessions they'll be fine. Iowa went down today because they couldn't get out and run or get the number of possessions they needed. They didn't get enough looks for their best player either. We need to figure out how to score yesterday. Defense is great but if you can't score..

It worked once in one game one time the same as the starting lineup doing us any favors. I'm sure we had to do it because we were really tired from a game two days ago. We had a solid year but left too many wins on the schedule from some pretty terrible decisions by players and coaches to go with some embarrassing losses.
