  1. Higher in what regard? If I'm the AD which I think is like the GM then no, I don't really think he is the issue. I think there is an illusion that Crean and Glass are tied at the hip but the Crean situation has given Glass the single most headaches since taking the job, inherently to some degree. If I'm running IU, and I have to be honest, I wait until I find something I'm sure of- or this gets seriously bad. Glass is done if he misses on all these "could be the next thing" coaches. Indiana is a different level so simply equating it to "he did well at this lower school equals to exponential success at bigger school" is flawed, imo. There are VERY few coaches who are elite and not one is available. No one is sure-fire that is moving. Instability is a bad thing for a program. You can throw out an example where it worked to keep moving on but it can sink a program in recruiting and in hiring. This 3 game stretch has been bad for Crean and the combination of his history has people fired up, I really do get and identify with that...but it isn't like what you see here is the typical "hoosier fan" which is part of it. Glass is seeing this type of fan plenty, but he's also seeing the more casual fan who knows IU "won the big ten, has some good kids, and ran into a buzz saw in Carolina last year but were destined for more if not." I'm not saying I agree. As you noted, I know he isn't the guy for the job. But if he makes the move it needs to be the right one or thats about it for him because of the weight of basketball at Indiana. Anyone chalking this up simply to "he isn't good enough, go find another" isn't living in reality, imo. I'm sorry. I get I'm going to hear that's a loser's mentality to accept "mediocrity" until the sure-fire thing comes along...again, ignoring the reality. Glass is paid very well. The Indiana basketball program generates record money which makes the admin happy. Does everyone want to see IU win championships, sure. Do the AD, donors, admin and casual fans consider other things for other reasons...yeah. Label me with the loser's mentality if you want. I want better, but I get it is all I'm saying.
  2. The idea is that the ideas are different. I was, and still am, trying to be kind. Keep forgetting not to provide counter arguments to this thread regardless of the content.
  3. Different sport and far different circumstance. I see you noted it as extreme but you're still trying to make the point... I don't think you can equate OC's/DC's in football and their standing to associate/assistant coaches in basketball. It's far different.
  4. Calbert and Crean didn't get along. Kenny was money and also the Crean schedule or lack there of is tough on assistants and families. Kenny could attest to that from what I've heard but not sure that was the driving force or anything.
  5. Or a head coaching position and a raise? This is the sorta stuff that makes this thread ridiculous and I'm not picking on you, Treesh. Thats the first post I read today. Crean isn't the guy but bring a logical discussion
  6. This. If Glass were to miss on the next one he is done. Glass and Crean aren't buddies by any stretch but that is somehow a thing here.
  7. I'm gonna edit the title. I don't think Dawg did it with that in mind but see your point for sure.

  9. ouch.... Lookin like we may need to CHAT
  10. Kids underrated
  11. Watch it, Brass. I think IU brings it.
  12. Haha can't wait
  13. Demands it? I don't think so. IU athletics are doing fine from a financial standpoint. Fan support isn't really going to move the needle when you're still ranked and all. Barring a total collapse- which is not going to happen- and even then I don't think it makes a difference this year. Without a scandal or something, boosters are the only real way something gets done fast like many are asking for here. I sat on the 4th row for the Nebraska game (I get to Assembly Hall like once a year) and those guys aren't nearly as reactionary as this board. Right or wrong, they just aren't. I've been around some of them my whole life, as some on here know. They love IU, but they don't react like that with their money. I get the counter that you guys are having a reaction to a bigger picture. One big banker I was talking to right after the game said " Yup, afraid this is just the same ol' Crean. Average. He's bringing in good kids, just gotta wait it out. " or something to that effect. I maybe should have pushed him a little on what exactly he meant but had a bad experience with that once...not fun ;)
  14. Thats fair. You're a mod, moderate those attacking you or him or whoever. Or tell me about it and i'll do it.
  15. We've been instructed not to allow counter arguments in this thread.
  16. Do you really feel ostracized? Persecuted? I mean, really, tell me. If you don't want to do it here PM me and we'll have that conversation. I'm pretty sure we leave everyone alone unless it starts bleeding into the recruiting threads and even then we let it go for the most part until I get a PM about it. I don't think we've handed out a warning point in months. Could be wrong about that but I don't think I am. The anti-crean stuff is everywhere and WE get it. It isn't like a lot of us don't understand he isn't the ultimate answer.
  17. Charles Pulliam @cspulliam Darius Garland scored 27, Jeremiah Oatsvall had 16 & Gavin Schoenwald had 14 as @baeagles cruised to a 89-62 win to clinch the @NXTLVLNSH
  18. Butler just lost at St. Johns. Fire Holtmann!!! And hire Holtmann!!
  19. It took us a year to move from the chair reference to the kitchen table. Progress.
  20. Definitely different than the Troy situation. I'd say about 70/30 go vs stay (if I had to put some numbers to it) but trending the other way. A lot more to shake out here.
  21. Yeah, that's a little off. The original question was about whether Bryant will declare for the draft not his production if/when drafted. NBA scouts talk plenty so there can definitely be an informed opinion on draft position...
  22. He's killed IU on the offensive end in both losses. I do think he is an above average defender, but he really hurts IU on offense.
