  1. The owner, I think.
  2. I'd be okay with May. Not particularly enthused but I can see a possibility, after this year I see the possibility easier than I did with Miller. Take away the coach in waiting for his son and I'd gladly take a run at Pearl and stabilize the program for about a decade.
  3. The fans aren't the problem, too many bad coaching hires is. If the fans were the problem then UK would be a raging dumpster fire, those fans would've rioted after hiring Woodson and burned the campus to the ground after year 4 was announced. Cronin isn't the worst option, but with his buyout I have no interest. If we paid that buyout for someone like Cronin then we have decision makers that need therapy (if not a padded cell).
  4. I think I'd take having Stevens and going against May, not that I think that'll happen. Stevens is a grand slam that sends shockwaves through basketball. May could end up being good and is off to a good start, but he ultimately fares is TBD.
  5. Did you think they were serious when they hired Woodson?
  6. There are parts I could potentially buy, like waiting until March or the NIL/assistant pool. Moving to March after saying two weeks then saying signing Monday, no. I don't buy the terms either, I can see deep pockets throwing the vault at Stevens but I don't buy the 6 years with coach's option part at all.
  7. I'd love to be wrong but I don't buy this. Going from signing Monday so he can enjoy the All Star breaking to March 2 when there'd still be a little over a month of NBA season left. I don't buy the length of 6 years either. He could sign and nothing be announced yet. IF that were true changing date sounds like dragging it out to see who might buy the Celtics or let them counter. The NIL and assistant pool I could see, but are the only parts that pass the smell test to me.
  8. Close, it was actually a chair not a hammer.
  9. Not much worse than the last 8 years.
  10. Being forced to watch the last 8 years would 100% be a violation of the Geneva Conventions.
  11. Ok, I checked and Goodman said Stevens told Field of 68 he wasn't a candidate and Goodman founded Field of 68. Although the only quote from Stevens he gave didn't actually use those words.
  12. Goodman's tweet said it was from a source IIRC.
  13. You do remember this is IU we're talking about, right? That's pretty much status quo anymore.
  14. Except Woodson was never going to do that because he's a lousy coach. He'd already shown that before IU hired him.
  15. I'd take year 5 of Woodson over either. Yes, I just typed that and yes I think I'm going to be sick.
  16. The last 25 years should've taught us not to underestimate IU's ability to IU. And no I don't think Brownell is actually a candidate, but someone equally disappointing wouldn't be surprising.
  17. After the last 25 years I'm pretty sure the basketball gods abandoned us.
  18. I'd be good with it except for supposedly wanting his son to be coach in waiting.
  19. Replacing Woodson with Brownell would be very much in line with the last quarter century of IUBB. Then doing this again in 4 years because they never learn.
  20. It'd be a splash, in a toilet bowl.
  21. I'd hope not, but he gave Woodson a 1m raise for what should be bare minimum expectations.
  22. If he ends up the coach, and we should all take the believe it when it happens stance because IMO the odds are slim, he wouldn't be the first to say something like that then take the job.
  23. He was a coach in 2021, easier to not be around media now.
  24. There was a screenshot of a text exchange several pages back, from another board I believe, that was supposedly from Goodman someone told him that Stevens told them he wasn't a candidate. So 3rd hand if the exchange was even real.
