I don't have the game feed, but 'holding' Ottawa to 32 at half seems like it should be a success...no?
-
Maybe against Ottawa last year, but overall, our turnovers were far better last year over the full season.
-
Or, watch it about 15 hours later on regular ol' BTN. That's my plan.

They curb-stomped the Murray Racers. Baylor is a very high level team this year. I wonder if it was a 16 point win that was a six point lead with three minutes to go, or a 16 win that was 25 with three minutes to go. The Gee Gees are dangerous when they're shooting it well. Don't expect a cupcake level opponent, or a cupcake level final score folks.

I know it's a long shot, but I'm going to try to tie a ribbon around this extended argument of offering "diamonds in the rough" and offerring early. The longshots recruits that have turned out fantastic for IU have one quality in common. They all have way way way above average quickness and athleticism. That is why Victor, Will (who was a state high jump champ) and now it appears OG are great finds , and why kids like MSB and others are, well, not quite as great. Durham? "Explosive quickness" is the scouting report.

See! No one is bashing. Some are just now and then pointing out the laundry list of reasons why Durham and Gelon potentially are not good enough! ;)

Coach's kid with high major quickness and size. YES!!
-
Per VerbalCommits.com: Strengths: "Electric quickness". Watch the videos...it's true. That's a good place to start.
-
Not to nitpick, but it would be quite a bit better than "solid", with three four stars, two of which are #38 and #39 overall.

Yes. It would.

SEE!! I TOLD YOU!! HE'S BEEN SAVING THE REAL MSB!!!!

Davis would need to pay his own way for a trip to HH this weekend.
-
I'm kinda thinking IU and Mississippi State are the prohibitive favorites for Davis and Kegler. I'd settle for one out of two, but dang, both would be awesome.

Howland has two final fours, two Big East championships, and three Pac 12 championships under his belt. Also has a very long list of successful NBA players whom he coached in college. He is a "players coach" to the extent that the inmates sometimes run the asylum, but he has a really good track record, and has a big time five star (Newman) coming in this year. Wouldn't be surprised if Kegler, being the local kid, ends up there, and from there he can sell a chance to win at Miss St. Howland is also an extremely, ahem..."effective" recruiter, and has ties to AAU/handlers. Losing high-level players to Miss St? Normally not okay. Losing high-level players to Howland at Miss St? Gonna happen to more than just IU.

I am a fan of college basketball. UK is not a college basketball team. It is an NBA development program, with 18 year olds that need to stay eligible for a few semesters so that they can advance to the major leagues.

I didn't say that "Crean can't get it done". In fact, if the injury gods are kind, I have a sneaking optimistic hunch that he can get a lot done this coming season. A Lot. Just said that like many, Crean has his strengths and his weaknesses, and that he should play to his strengths.

I agree with a lot of this: you are NOT saying that an Indiana kid is automatically a good player and/or a leader. You are also clear that an out of state kid can meet and exceed standards. I also agree that we have a recruiting advantage with local families that want to see their kids play for a B1G school on the biggest stage. The only problem point I see is the assertion that while CTC is coach we can win national championships with who we can bring in from (more or less) between Chicago and Louisville high schools. AAU, the internet, and expanded cable networks have made top 100 kids national spectacles, and the Dukes and Kansas's are huge competition, even in our own backyard. I like Grant Gelon and his ilk as part of a class, but if we overspend our recruiting focus locally, we very well could still lose out on just as many of the local top 100, and have far fewer options when we did. One of CTC's perceived major faults is his local "like him" factor, one of his major strengths is his energy level and work ethic with recrutis no matter where they are. I'm NOT saying that this dynamic is optimum; but I am saying that we should take advantage of his strengths, and not look to magically transform his weaknesses.

Charles Barkley was almost right: Athletes are not role models...unless the athlete is Victor Oladipo.
