  1. Lotta smoke and I'm thinking some fire with Efton. Pushed back his commitment date last week...Ohio State had been at or near the top all season. Then after he postpones they run and grab Brunk? Hmmm
  2. Just stumbled across this post from J.R. Smith: https://www.instagram.com/p/CM-gVR7B7Wg/ Among the comments are Bradley Beal, Kenyon Martin, Quentin Richardson, Stephen Jackson – liked by Chris Paul. Hard to understate how loved Woody is and how valuable these relationships will be for us.
  3. I'm an Arizona State football fan as well, and this hire is almost exactly the Herm Edwards hire to a T. Older coach with no college experience, never recruited, pro model being pushed, nearly universally mocked, etc. I hated that move when it happened, but he hired a great staff that has been recruiting their ***** off and he is the relatable father figure that closes the deal. How we round out the staff will obviously be important, but recruits eat the pro experience up, and I don't see why they can't do the same with Woodson. I'd probably take a bullet for Herm at this point with how he turned the program around and the trajectory they're on. Let's let this hire play out, but I think there's a good chance this is exactly what we needed too.
  4. For me the buck stops with Rob and Al. The mentality and effort is obviously a problem too, and that's squarely on Archie, but if those 2 were even ~25% better then they have been (which would bring them to playing average at best) we're 7-1 right now and all is well. We can talk about their lack of development all we want and if that's an Archie issue, but at some point it comes down to how much they want it, too. We're at the point where we need to throw Lander to the fire and live with the growing pains or Al and Rob need to take a long look in the mirror and figure it out.
  5. Great bounce back. Like others said, that's 2 neutral court wins over tournament/in the conversation of tournament teams at minimum. Can't take those lightly. There are still plenty of concerns, obviously. But seeing what UT is doing to UNC right now, I'm feeling a bit better. I think it's also important to remember how bad say OG and Juwan were their first few games as freshmen. Not saying their potential is as high as those guys, but if Lander and Trey can make the kind of jump those two did by the end of their freshman seasons – we might have something here.
  6. Agreed. Kid is a pup right now, but give him some time and he's going to be a real player for us by the end of the year.
  7. Hoosiers are up to #14 in KenPom. Doesn't mean a whole lot this early on, but I'll take it!
  8. Called the candy stripes pinstripes smh lol
  9. Yep, the North Dakota State insider picked MU. Doesn't get much more concrete than that - shut it down, folks.
  10. A lot of that crowd loves to point out how Leal "plays the right way." I think I can guess where that stems from (spoiler alert: it's not their rankings), but everyone can draw their own conclusions on why that is.
  11. Lol at this rate I'm half expecting to come on here one day to find out Romeo was banging my girlfriend, too
  12. Him only being the #7 overall player is the actual insane thing here
  13. Nice, he's not NOT going to IU. Keion to IU confirmed.
  14. 18, actually. I'm a big ASU fan as well, and boy was it nice to be on the other side of a Crean classic. Really baffling stuff down the stretch. Down 1 with 8 seconds left, they called a bizarre timeout at 3/4 court. The inbound angle was awkward as a result and kid turned it over. ASU made 1 FT to go up 2, Crean calls timeout. Then the final possession ends up being a 6'11 dude trying to go the length of the court... Needless to say that didn't work out.
  15. Gonna go out on a limb and say the twitter account with a couple hundred followers literally called "CBB Insider Info" isn't exactly dialed in on the Romeo Langford recruitment.
  16. Side note: Wisconsin lost to Summit league last place Western Illinois at home last year, and they turned out ok. Doesn't make this loss any less embarrassing, but it is not the end of the world. Now, back to the bourbon.
  17. We are favored by 13.5 at the moment. Still expect the boys to take care of business, but if it's close early, don't freak out.
  18. If Nova can go into Mackey and win without anyone over 6'9, and Kris Jenkins going 3-12...I like our chances.
  19. Things I like: 11 assists and only 1 turnover so far for Newkirk
  20. I guess I just assumed he was out for the year. That tweet makes it sound like he should be back at some point. EDIT: Osterman clarified, Hartman could use regular red shirt instead of medical IF needed. My bad, didn't think of that.
  21. This sounds promising.
  22. I could be wrong, but I don't believe the locations for the first two rounds are set in stone and tied to seeds.  For example, if Oregon jumps Xavier for a 2 seed, they wouldn't go to St. Louis instead of Spokane where Lunardi currently has them.  They would still play in Spokane because it's the closest site for them.   So we could possibly be a 3 seed and play in St. Louis, but we would have to pass either Xavier or MSU on the S Curve.
