I haven't reviewed the latest class as to rankings lately but we did get a few 4's. This is what we need to attract - 4's and 5's. Until we get consistently above .500, it will be hard to attract them. It will be a slow process to get these guys. In the meantime, our coaches will have to do their best to get the most out of the 3's and a couple 4's to go against these top teams in our division with their 4's and many 5's. More depth will help and is desperately needed. This next class is a good start at getting the depth and stars we need for our program. We just need to let the staff get their thing done while we wait which I hope isn't long.

Thanks - I just researched it a little more and found the following on PREP HOOPS / INDIANA: December 9th. Southport Fieldhouse. That is the location of the best event in Indiana for the high school season this year. Brian Snow and company have put together another stellar lineup of games and there are more than a few outstanding storylines to pay attention to. From Romeo Langford vs. Keion Brooks Jr. to Jerome Hunter vs. Damezi Anderson, Robert Phinisee vs. Eric Hunter and everything in between. This event has built up over the years and is now looking like one of the best events in the Midwest.

I think this is scheduled for the Sunday the 10th and IU plays UL of Sat the 9th so hopefully the coaches get to the event. Check it out here - twitter.com/forumtipoff?lang=en

Anyone know whether IU has or had any interest in Russ Yeast?

Luca was selected "Offensive Player of the Year - Western League" as a freshman. Take a look at one of his freshman videos: http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/luca-diamont/NLQhcgaYEea-8KA2nzwbTA/default.htm Looks like he can handle the ball - hope Zander can get some Hoosier blood in him. Here is a THANK YOU letter written to Zander Diamont that is very interesting also A Thank You Letter to Zander Diamont by Eddie Cotton (1 week ago) Zander Diamont stood for more than the average football player. He was electrifying and hopeful. He defied logic and made you believe. Most importantly, he never strayed away from who he was. Zander Diamont is and will always be my favorite college athlete of all-time. http://wiux.org/2016/11/27/a-thank-you-letter-to-zander-diamont/

IU Baseball - B1G Tournament
Dennis replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
Thanks for the info on TV coverage. That is too bad that BTN is carrying it. Our cable company and BTN cannot come to an agreement so we have to do without seeing any Big Ten games on anything. -
IU Baseball - B1G Tournament

Are these games going to be carried on tv or streamed on computer? -
This kid is an Indiana All-Star player so there are people that believe he is much better than some of you doubters. Between those that put him on the team and CTC, he has something thing that you don't see. Let's cut out the downgrading talk and be glad that he is a Hoosier and will be helping us out for the next few years. Grant - we are waiting for you to tear it up next year.

Analysis: A fitting ending to the 2015 season
Dennis replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Let's don't be so negative on where we can go or not go. Sure, the competition of the division we are in is indeed tough and it will take better players to move higher. Wilson has some on the way. Look at how close we came to beating some of them this year. A better defense that could held 5 teams to one less TD and we would have won 4 (I think of them). That would have given us a 10-2 regular season record!! Think of that, guys. That is how close we came to doing something that those comments above say we can never do. As we do progress, there will be some 4-stars and then 5-stars that will sign up to help be the one or one of the ones that make us a powerful team. That will happen if we don't continually talk down our team. Think about how close we came to a 10-2 record, and then write your next comment. We need an extension for Wilson so we can keep the staff continuous to provide the opportunity for the 4 & 5 stars to climb aboard. Better players signed up 4 yrs, 3 yrs, 2 yrs, and last year. This year we are getting better ones also. Let's keep this on a positive movement and get a defense that can hold our opponents to one less TD per game next year. -
Is there any streaming going on to cover any part of Hoosier Hysteria? I know the game itself can only be seen on BTN but if your cable company does not offer BTN, does anyone know of a link someplace to pick it up? What about the Rutger game this weekend. Is it being streamed anywhere so a guy in PA can pick it upon the internet?

IU vs SIU Reply Right Now On BTN
Dennis replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Does anyone know of a way to watch BTN2GO or BTN other than cable (if they have it), DISH, or DirectTV? How about SLINGTV? Do they have it? It looks like practically of IUBB games will be on BTN and very, very few on normal channels. -
I am not much on giving out scholarship offers so early but we need to do whatever is necessary to keep him interested in watching what IU is doing instead of only watching um and msu. He also needs to get some stretching exercises to gain some height to about 6'4" by 2018!
-
Slow down a little - we don't know how long those suspensions are for. Has anyone heard if they will get to play next week yet?
-
My cable company does not offer BTN therefore, I cannot get BTN2GO on my computer. I would have to go with DISH or DIRECT TV to get BTN and then BTN2GO. Does anyone know of a way to get BTN or BTN2GO without going to DISH or DIRECT TV? I do not see where SLING TV offers BTN or BTN2GO.

Thomas Bryant and Emmitt Holt cited for illegal alcohol posession
Dennis replied to swatford's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Seems to have gotten way off the thread of this post. However, in reading the last several pages of comments, I don't understand all the complaining about all the players that you guys are doing. It seems that if all of the complaints turn out to be accurate, we will be lucky to win half of the games. The team is much better than that so I don't know where all of you are coming from. Yes, there are a few problems but man-o-man guys, you all sound so terrible. If I were a recruit looking to see what was happening at IU, this would be the last place I would want to come. Who would want to come play for a group of fans that tear everyone up even those that have never even finished their high school season? Here all of you are complaining because we don't have any 'bigs' signing up. Can you blame them the way you are carrying on. If you are indeed an IU fan, act and talk like one so the team and any recruit will enjoy playing for IU. Sit back right now and say to yourself, 'I will try to be more positive in my thinking of and talking of IU basketball.' Let's keep the players that are playing, have committed, and those we hope will commit. Now, let's get some good recruit visits and let them hear how much we want them and that we will not bad mouth them after they commit. -
Just for some numbers on his accuracy, I watched the video posted at the beginning of this thread and tried to count the number of his 3 pointers that hit the rim versus swishing. To the best I could tell, of 17 shots, 14 were swishers. He also shot 4 of 4 freethrows that did not touch the rim. I believe that we will see this kid go up up up in the rankings this year in his senior year. Hope someone keeps up watching this guy and those that get to see him in a game keep those of us out of state fans informed.

UM Graduate Transfer Max Bielfeldt To IU
Dennis replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I believe that Max was voted the UM 6TH MAN award by his fellow team members last year so they thought a lot about him and his ability. That means he must be pretty good for the things we can use this coming year. We have a great team now and need him for added depth and hustle - I go with the opinion of the UM team members. I also say Crean was smart enough to get him to make this visit and here is hoping that he returns in June. We should know next week - maybe while he is here! -
OFFICIAL: Ferrell returns for Senior Season
Dennis replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Since it was put off until Sunday, the only thing that has a time limit is if he goes pro. If he is going to stay at IU, he could simply not announce anything and then let it die. The option of GOING PRO would simply be cut off. This may be a way of settling the STAY option without having to answer questions that will undoubtedly be asked by the press in a press conference unless he is well prepared with good reasons for putting this off. -
Fairbanks Alaska needs some Hoosier help!
Dennis replied to ALASKA HOOSIER's topic in Off Topic Forum
ALASKAN HOOSIER - I do not do much on computers but went to your site but could not see any link to vote. Can you or someone here please send a note telling me how to make those votes. I would like to be able to put this on a few other sites I look at regularly. Thanks, Dennis -
I am just tired of hearing all the negativity of the players and of CTC and his staff. By the way of life, we do not have a BIG - had two, one went to the NBA and the other to Marquette. If either of those would have stayed, you would be shouting 180 degrees different. Reread what you negative guys are saying and ask yourself if you were a BIG and was reading what you are saying, would you want to come here? We have a lot of young good players that are going to continue getting better playing without the BIG. When the BIG looks at our team and sees that he will get plenty of playing time immediately, and knows the talent of the others, he will see winning will be there and he will be a key. Quit being so negative and look at it positively with team we have as they continue to improve. With that attitude and positive postings, we have a lot better chance of getting one of those BIGs that you may be chasing away today.

Just saw an article about Ivan Rabb (6'10" 2015). Have not heard or seen anywhere that IU has even looked at this guy. He just played Saturday (Nov 29) at the Prep2Prep Tip-Off Classic at Newark Memorial. He played AGAINST Chase Jeter 6'11" (Duke 2015) and Stephen Zimmerman 7'0" (2015 Undeclared). All three in 2015 Top Ten in the country. Ivan got 28 points and 20 rebounds against a combined 24 points and 16 rebounds for Jeter and Zimmerman. Take a look at the article by googling "Ivan Rabb handle Bishop Gorman". If you know how to get this name to CTC, get it there!

I looked at the extended list on the above link and did not see IU on it. Is there any reason why IU could not go see him and offer him a scholarship and see if his list would expand to top 6 instead of tope 5?

Haven't heard much on Thomas lately. Would really fill the bill for us. Any news from anyone anywhere?
