In the next 10 years CTC will win a National championship here, or he won't. I'm pretty sure with all of his shortcomings I've seen trending the past 6 years, I will bet on the latter. I think I have a better chance of winning the billion dollar bracket challenge this year!
If you had to bet your house on Michigan State, Ohio State, Michigan winning a championship in 10 years would you say yes to any of those? Loaded poll question you asked. It's hard to win a championship regardless who you are. I'd bet none of them win if my house were on the line. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

 4. Ouch.  Women's season started out so promising too.  Hell they were ranked for a week or two weren't they?  Looks like we are NIT 2x bound this year.
 5. If you look back at Crean's entire tenure at IU, this is the first disappointing regular season he's had. Everything else he met my expectations or surpassed them. This year I predicted us at 20-10 with a 7-10 ranking in the tournament. I knew how young this team was and how difficult it was going to be to lose 4 YEAR STARTERS in Hulls and Watford. One could argue their leadership and drive were just as big of losses as Cody & VO's talent. I'm disappointed that we aren't going to the Big Dance. But it isn't shocking given the make up of out league and roster. Sit back, hope we make a respectable run in the NIT and then shift focus over to next year. I'm very excited to see what our Freshman do over their first real summer in Bloomington. We could be pretty damn good next year with out even taking into account the newbies. 7.
Which interview was it? There may be hope for this coach afterall. He changed his sub patterns after getting boo'd by 17,000 faithful. Now changing his game plans based on great statiscal analysis from one of our own from Btown Banners. If he would only consult with us on some of these project centers, we all would have told him to get Mcgary or Hammons. Another suggestion, dump the 3 x 5 cards with plays and sub patterns and just watch the game. Also, only get out on the court to trip Ted Valentine not trap one of your own players. Sorry sunshiners, I couldn't resist. I still hope we win out and get to dance.
Nothing sunshiner about that post. Team has clearly played differently the last two games. 8.
Agree. Then why isn't our focus every game to play to that strength? I'm watching the replay of ohio State and we aren't playing that way. But Ohio State could nt have played much worse and we hit outside shots.
I honest think Tommy saw the charts I put together in the How Indiana wins post. His comments seem to me like he know now that we need to push the ball and shoot quick to win. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

 10.
It just reminded me of when Calipari said the dribble drive is the best offense when shots are falling. The same thing applies to literally every offense.
Haha no I see what you are saying. I just think IU's offense when making shots is better than other offenses when they make shots. We'll out run and gun you Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
 11.
Ummmm, the object of the game is to put the ball in the hoop. Every offense looks unstoppable when shots are falling. Just saying.
Obviously... Wasn't my point though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
 12. ^^^^^ YES!!! Crean's offense looks UNSTOPPABLE when shots are dropping, and it really is impossible to stop when that happens. (See UNC game last year). I'd say Crean's offense is 75% fast break, 10% secondary break, 10% turnover and 5% Half court sets. The turnovers isn't a jab at Crean or the offense, when you play that fast they are going to happen. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
 13.
1) Cal won the title though, and that gives you more slack. Like it or not, Crean does not and should not have the slack of a championship coach. 2) The rebuild is over, expectations shifted. It's no longer "look what he did" it's "can he take us where we should expect to be".
I would argue that it should actually be "can he take us where we should be" instead of expect to be. If I've learned one thing since starting this site, it's that it is IMPOSSIBLE to ever meet Hoosiers expectations :) We could go undefeated and win the National Championship and there would be fans who find issues with something! MCW has better numbers, but when adjusting for pace they are about even, and Vic is doing it more efficiently. And Vic is doing it while playing better defense.
I think it's going to be tough for Vic to win it unless he goes HAM the rest of the season. MCW has the media vote right now Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

 17. As over the top as I thought Dakich was during the Purdue game, I thought he was that far opposite tonight loving on IU.  Pretty crazy episode of polar opposites from one night to the other.  I enjoy Dakich's input when he doesn't preach and just calls it like he sees it.
 18.
It blows my mind how people can't qualify academically. It's high school. Especially with these guys knowing what they have riding on such a simple lifestyle. IU is harder to get into than some places, yes, but you can't maintain mostly B's through high school? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I don't know anything about your background or upbringing, but you have to put yourself in their shoes. Education isn't stressed by parents, schools aren't as good. Kids slip through the cracks. As much as people want to blame the kid, it's not always the kids fault in my opinion. 22. Not doubting they fall short. Just saying g the data was a bit manipulated to serve your point better. I realize your logic and why you said 13 years for mike Davis, but you did that also knowing it excluded Crean's best season at IU Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
 23.
I said at the same point in the careers. Davis has been a head coach for 13, this is Crean's 15th. At 13 years that number is accurate. The 3rd Sweet 16 came in year 14 of Crean's career, the direct comparison was just 13 years to be an equal measure. I did write that Crean has been coaching two more years, which adds a conference title and Sweet 16. Add those and it takes it to 2 conference titles (same as Davis) and 3 Sweet 16s. Now that I look, his winning percentage isn't accurate at the 13 year mark. That's his career winning %
Leaving out Crean's 14th and 15th seasons blows your whole analysis and the point you are trying to prove in my opinion. It's convenient to leave those out to help your argument. Gotta love how stats can be manipulated :) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
